Alan Wake
Alan Wake is a game of extremes. Just like there's constant playing with light to force away darkness and its evil powers, gamers get a horror adventure of which certain parts have clearly come from a rusty past situated in the dark ages while others are a beacon of light for more creative...

Film and horror/ thriller fans will like this one
Alan Wake is a thoroughly atmospheric and nightmarish role planning game, likely to suck you into what is a very good storyline and leave you biting off all of your nails. First off it is a cross between a horror and a thriller film, it is very cinematic, including allot of cutscenes that get you...

awesome
When approaching Alan Wake I wasn't really sure what to expect. I have always been a huge survival horror fan. I didn't know too much about Alan Wake but I decided to give it a shot anyways. Boy was I surprised. This game turned out to be a jewel.

It has been a long, long time coming, but Alan Wake is finally ready to make its debut on the Xbox 360. The five plus years of development have been filled with delays and direction changes (notably a shift from open world to a more linear adventure), but the result of that lengthy development...

Alan Wake UK Review
Hang onto your hats horror fans! It's time for the unlikely videogame comparison of the day! Alan Wake : it's a bit like Atari's 2008 reboot, Alone in the Dark. And it's not just in the trashy tone either: both games skirt recklessly around the outer limits of the horror genre and both are so...

Alan Wake review
First announced in 2005, Alan Wake is a psychological thriller five years in the making. We had our reservations, but Remedy's narrative-heavy foray has proved worth the wait.
Pros:
- A beautifully crafted world, stunningly presented
- A cast of believable characters wrapped up in a narrative that's paced as reliably as a metronome
- A fine balance of suspense and action
Cons:
- Some disappointing set pieces
- Wake's flamboyant literary agent, Barry, occasionally goes to great lengths to remind you that he's a caricature sidekick

Alan Wake - DLC - Special Episode 2: The Writer Review
If you were a fan of the main game simply for its gameplay either pack is worth a look, but if you want more of the story they must be experienced together (if at all). They are functionally an unnecessary addition to the story, serving only to bring the player in a tight circle back to where they...

WR: Alan Wake (Xbox 360, PC)
Finnish developer Remedy, best known for the Max Payne games has blessed gamers with a thought-provoking suspenseful thriller, set in a beautifully crafted world. Drenched in darkness, you are the light. Moved forward by a well-written narrative we are taken into the world of author Alan Wake.
Pros:
- Intelligent and thought-provoking story
- Eerie atmosphere creates a great sense of tension and anticipation
- Stunning dynamic lighting effects play center stage here
- Beautifully crafted environments with lush and realistic foliage
- Haunting sound effects work very well at setting the game's...
Cons:
- In-game facial models don't always look so good
- Cheap back attacks and overly picky dodge mechanic are annoying
- Left bumper button/left thumbstick combo for dodge move is awkward
- Wake's movements are a bit clunky and he's not very responsive when trying to scale environmental objects
- The game is...

Amazing, A Must Buy
It took me a little while before I picked up this game. I wanted to get it, but I never got around to it for some reason. Then my girlfriend started to get more into gaming and she loves horror games.
