Magnetic story and interesting gameplay, though its slow in in-game cutscenes but don't let that get you down.
A top notch game in psychological horror and thriller genres, I loved the gameplay and story of Alan Wake. It heavily loans references from Stephen King's works and The X-Files and incorporates an episodic structure for the missions emphasizing its value on the narrative.

FAIR REVIEW WARNING OTHERS
After completion, here's an honest review with no bullsh!t. The story was phenomenal, a good 8/10. The gameplay was good, a solid 7/10. However, the enemies were overtly overpowered even on a medium difficulty level and you always lost your weapon and ammo after some random event happened.

Never ending nightmare
Forget Black Ops Zombies Forget Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombie mode, the new walking dead killing machine has just waltzed into town on horseback, wearing a cowboy hat. If you are fed up with the swarms of Nazi zombies, then why not take a shot at an open world adventure set in the Wild West, where...
Pros:
- Ridiculously fun
- with fast paced comical and scary gameplay that fulfils every zombie lover's dream of surviving in an open world game
Cons:
- It hasn't been turned into a feature length game yet

Alan Wake Review
At E3 2005, Finnish developer Remedy (of Max Payne fame) pulled me aside for a behind-closed-doors view of a freshly-announced title called Alan Wake. While there was little in the way of actual gameplay, the technology they showcased was beyond anything I'd seen to date.

This generation's "Eternal Darkness."
So, in the end, I loved Alan Wake generally through and through. While the scare tactics did lose a little punch towards the end, the game remained consistently enjoyable and challenging straight through. The story is great, and again, it's the closest thing we have to a Stephen King video game.
Pros:
- I'm a horror fan
- I'm a huge horror fan
- And one thing that I think is important above all else, is atmosphere
- Hell, a stellar atmosphere can make up for shoddy acting or iffy writing
- My favorite movie
Cons:
- Honestly, this game fires so consistently on so many cylinders that noticing the few bad items isn't exactly easy
- But there are a couple issues holding it back from true perfection

Alan Wake Review – Xbox 360 – Never Go To Small US Towns
Alan Wake has been in development for a long time, and during the course of its creating, changes were made.

Alan Wake
You can approach this axe-wielding, boogeyman-dodging thriller in two ways: as a literate, sophisticated mystery told in the form of a videogame, or as a frantic, pulse-pounding actioner about rationing ammo and light sources.
Pros:
- + Sophisticated narrative pairs well with cinematic gameplay, + White-knuckle atmosphere
- polished combat controls
Cons:
- - Gameplay variety peaks after a while
- pretty linear, ? Wait, wait, wait..
