Acer Predator X27

A 144Hz refresh rate, 4K resolution and proper HDR thanks to a clever 384-zone backlight, mark the Acer Predator X27 out as one of the most feature-rich and capable gaming monitors you can buy.

Fantastic image quality; Great gaming performance; Stunning HDR

Very expensive; Still only a 27-inch display; 4K resolution too demanding

Acer Predator X27

The Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ is very similar in its specs to the Predator X27, it being a 27-inch monitor with 4K UHD, Nvidia G-Sync, a 144Hz maximum refresh rate, and a 1,000-nit rated peak brightness. We look forward to reviewing it soon.

4K UHD resolution; Supports HDR content; Very high rated and tested brightness; Excellent contrast ratio for an IPS monitor; Glare-reducing hood; Stylish, ergonomic mount provides height, tilt, and swivel control

Stratospheric pricing; Requires high-performance hardware to get the most out of it

Acer Predator X27: A glorious HDR gaming monitor

The Acer Predator X27 provides fantastic image quality and a great 144Hz gaming experience, not to mention a stylish design, a nice stand and a few useful extras like a USB hub. Of course it's far from cheap, but at the time of writing it retails for around £100 less than the Asus PG27UQ - and it's...

Sumptuous HDR colour; Fantastic contrast; Decent gaming performance

Incredibly expensive; 4K feels cramped on a 27in monitor; Fan noise

Acer Predator X27

The Acer Predator X27 is one of the best gaming monitors to date and impresses through a lavish specification that includes 4K resolution, G-Sync at up to 144Hz and DisplayHDR 1000 certification.

4K UHD resolution and 144Hz refresh; Silky smooth Nvidia G-Sync; Impressive HDR credentials; Excellent colour coverage and accuracy

Costs £1,800; Fan noise is annoying; Halo effect can be distracting

Back in September last year, we had a chance to test out the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ 4K HDR gaming monitor. Referred to unofficially as the "God monitor", it was the first time we ever played with a gaming monitor of such calibre, and suffice to say, it didn't disappoint.

Easily one of the best in class when in comes to features and performance, but that price tag puts it out of reach for many.

Stand; Visual performance

Impressive but expensive

I'm very happy with this monitor I had done so much research over the asus and acer. For £400 difference at time of writing I opted for this one as they share the same panel. I was worried the fan noise as reported in earlier reviews would be an issue but it is not at all.

Acer Predator X27 27" 4K Max-144Hz Nvidia G-Sync HDR Gaming Monitor

The best monitor I have ever seen and used. It has revolutionary color accuracy and refresh rate. Gaming on this takes immersion to a whole new level.

Very good if you can afford it and think it is worth it (and has a terribly good computer). Tested XB273K before, which is an almost identical screen, except that the XB273K has the HDR400, while it has HDR1000 and 384 backlight zones.
