Acer Nitro 50

On a component level, however, we didn't note too much that distinguishes it from the Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop, however, essentially filling the same role at a higher price. Despite being less expensive, Dell's tower, as we tested it, offers more storage via a combination of speedy SSD and roomy...

Small, compact tower; Reliable gaming performance for 1080p play; Intel Optane Memory with 1TB hard drive

Cramped interior; Only 8GB memory in test model; Would prefer a true SSD plus a hard drive

Acer Nitro N50-600D

This is a small but extremely powerful tower system. Acer does a number of different versions under the same name and model number both with and without an SSD drive, it also has various Intel and AMD processors so do think about all this prior to selecting where to purchase it from as certain...

Excellent Gaming PC

Acer Nitro N50 arrived from Newegg in pristine condition as it was well packaged for shipping. Once you take the PC out of the shipping container, you will notice the PC is quite compact. It will not take much space. Red accents on the black case give nice appearance.

- Desktop arrived very quickly from newegg; Packaging was excellent

- If you upgrade RAM, it will automatically default to the maximum of 21333; The BIOS does no allow any RAM tweaks; The BIOS doe snot even support XMP profiles; Extremely disappointing; The QVL list for RAM is extremely short

Hdd is slow to boot, no speakers, no sound card, not a gaming computer

Acer Nitro N50-600 review: Outshone by the competition

Ultimately, there are enough bright spots here to save the Nitro N50-600 from total inferiority, but just as with the £1,149 version, it's easy to find something that costs no more but is better all round, such as the Palicomp AMD Abyss or PC Specialist Apollo S2 .

Decent specs for a mid-range PC; Great for day-to-day use; Bristling with external ports

High-intensity gaming performance is underwhelming; SSD is noticeably slow; Better alternatives for the same price
