It can handle AutoCAD and similar programs without a problem. Arrow keys take a bit of getting used to but having the numeric keypad is helpful. It is sturdy but you can clearly feel the difference stepping back from the Predator range but the Aspire 7 has much better cooling. The Wi-Fi is a bit of a letdown, I have changed the setting to not allow sleep mode on the WI-Fi but it still drops out temporarily at times using the same setup as my previous Predator Triton 500 laptop which never dropped out in this room or any other room in this house for that matter.

Overall I like this machine very much. I did however have some trouble installing Ubuntu 21.04 Linux onto this machine! I had no trouble at all installing Ubuntu on the Ryzen 5 model of the Acer, but the Ryzen 7 has a few issues. Stick with the Ubuntu Xorg setting and you will be fine. The Ubuntu software has some catching up to do I feel. Once I had resolved a few glitches this machine runs Blender (3D graphics software) and Natron (open-source node-based compositing software) very well indeed. VLC player runs beautifully in HD. While not the build I've been saving up for (my old one suddenly went to silicon heaven) I'm really happy with the performance. A solid laptop for gaming. Super chuffed with delivery as well guys. Arrived the day after ordering, from Auckland to Welly, when other deliveries have taken a few days. Kudos all round.
