AOC Agon AG271QX Review
AOC's 27-inch Agon AG271QX monitor supports AMD's FreeSync technology and has a speedy 144Hz refresh rate. Despite skewed greens and narrow viewing angles, it delivers solid gaming performance. Designed for extreme gaming, AOC's Agon AG271QX ($599) is chock-full of gamer-friendly features, including numerous video inputs, AMD FreeSync adaptive sync technology, multiple gaming modes, and a speedy 144Hz refresh rate. This gaming monitor's 27-inch Twisted Nematic (TN) panel provides smooth, artifact-free gaming performance, but its green color accuracy is skewed, and viewing angles are relatively narrow. For around $20 more, the ViewSonic XG2700-4K ( at Amazon) , our top pick for large-screen gaming monitors, is a better deal. Design and Features The AG271QX( at Amazon) looks identical to the AOC Agon AG271QG ( at Amazon) we reviewed last December. Both feature a cool-looking red-and-black cabinet, a silvery metal V-shaped stand, and a folding hook that you can hang your headphones on. The stand offers height, swivel, pivot, and tilt adjustments, and you can remove it and use the VESA mounting holes to hang the 14-pound cabinet on a wall with an optional mounting kit. AOC AGON AG271QX Adaptive-Sync Gaming Monitor Review
The AOC AGON AG271QX is a capable gaming monitor. It's not as full on in terms of focus and features as the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG248Q , but this is still a screen aimed primarily at a specific use, rather than a multi-purpose display that is also good for games.- 144Hz refresh rate
- Adaptive-Sync support
- Quick Switch external OSD control keypad
- Comprehensive connectivity including USB 3.0 hub
- Game presets plus three custom options
- 2,560 x 1,440 resolution
- Mid-range price gives tough competition
- No presets for movie- or work-oriented activities
AOC AGON AG271QX review
There's an ever-increasing number of gaming monitors on the market today and AOC's new AGON line of monitors is another to add to the list. The AG271QX TN is the first we've seen from the range, and with its aggressive red-and-black design, it certainly looks the part.- Impressive resolution and refresh rate at its price point
- Low perceived input lag
- Build quality and design
- Washed-out colours
- Overshoot ghosting with Overdrive enabled
- Viewing angles
AOC AGON AG271QX : Great for gaming, but also everything else
An impressive 2,560 x 1,440 gaming monitor, with a 144Hz refresh rate and good all-round performance- Impressive resolution and refresh rate at its price point
- Low perceived input lag
- Build quality and design
- Washed-out colours
- Overshoot ghosting with Overdrive enabled
- Viewing angles
Every game is a new experience in visual amazement.
Outstanding monitor. Paired with a GTX 1080 it's amazingly impressive.
Wow exceeded my expectations
Pros -144hz -1440p -AMAZING COLORS, I also own the 27QG ips G SYNC version of this, and side by side. The colors on this model freesync really pop out for a TN, I've owned a benqxl2730z and it surpasses that in color.
Review: AOC Agon AG271QX 27in display
AOC announced its new Agon brand a few months ago, to differentiate its gaming panels, but back then it was a simple re-branding of already existing displays. The AG271QX, however, is the first new Agon monitor, and it's a pretty solid mission statement of what AOC is trying to achieve.
