One of the best flagship headphones

The AKG q701 is almost unbeatable at its price. I use a Modi as DAC and Magni as amplifier. They drive the q701 well (I am not sure if it is good enough). The sound of it is surely at a higher stage than the AKG 240 series.

Good Value; Great Sound; Stylish

Uncomfortable

I owned these for a couple months before upgrading to the HD800. While using them, I used them with the ODAC+O2 combo as well as the Fiio e17. There's no doubt these are supposed to be headphones for home use. They're very open, leak sound and are just generally very large.

Good soundstage; clarity; removable cable

Sterile sound; costly in various countries; bumps on headband

AKG Acoustics?Q-701

It's a 2013 model, actually. First impressions, on comparing this to the Grado SR-125 the AKG's are replacing: It was readily apparent that the AKG's had an airier, sort of more crystalline sound.

AKG Q701

The AKG Q 701s may be ludicrously big and green, but design isn't their real talking point (honest).

Big; open sound; Good for all types of music; Among the most detailed for their price; Very comfortable

Large to wear out and about; Rivals have more pep

"Sell your Beats by Dre headphone" - JimboSpins

I have been using the Quincy Jones signature AKG Q701 headphones for about a year now. You can purchase them in a few different colors. The style of them is what attracted me to them, they have a nice futuristic looking style and I actually think they look a lot better than Beats By Dre headphones...

AKG Q701

In the Q701s, AKG has produced a truly excellent pair of Quincy Jones-endorsed headphones.

Excellent built quality; Great sound; Comfortable fit

Fairly expensive; Many equally good rivals

AKG Q701

AKG has enlisted the help of legendary music producer god, Quincy Jones, with its new range of high-quality headphones. Musicians endorse all sorts of things and for all sorts of reasons, and even good ones don't necessarily have good sonic taste – we can vouch for that from personal experience.

honestly some of the best pro quality headphones on the market, straight out of the package the bass does suffer a bit, but after listening to the Beatles "Revolver" a couple hundred times the bass cleans up.

Superb sound quality

at least 100 hrs; required break in time

Great sound, can be uncomfortable

If you research these, they are basically the same as the K701 and K702 (one reviewer performs tests showing nearly identical response curves). I liked the option of having the detachable cables in two different lengths.

These sound great and compare favorably with my Sennheiser HD650s; They have a little more "sparkle" than the Sennheisers and are very clean and detailed; I'm using them with a Matrix M-State headphone amp which will drive them to ear damaging levels with no distortion.

The earpads are quite comfortable, and the overall fit is good, but the headband is pretty stiff and has bumps on it that dig into my head; I can actually feel corresponding bumps in my skin after a listening session.
