I have the AKG K181DJ and LUV them, they are fun you feel the music like listening to speakers and a sub, wow!!I Have Senn 555,could hear every flaw. Its kind of like driving a corvette, you can feel every piece of gravel in the road, i would rather enjoy and feel the music instead of looking for...

AKG K181 DJ review

These bad-ass DJ cans from AKG offer appeal far beyond the dancefloor, with a combination of awesome sonics, solid build and supreme comfort on the old lobes. What does that all add up to?

Somewhat of a relief after hours spent listening to cold; precise noise cancellers; these normally aspirated headphones sound better than the Sennheiser PXC 450; Bose QC3 and Creative Aurvana X-Fi; although they are less suited to long-haul flights.

There are switches on the each ear marked "Large/small club"; They don't appear to do anything, at least when not plugged into a nightspot's sound system.

I was looking for a set of headphones that could improve the sound of my IPOD touch. Most notably, the bass is terrible from the IPOD. I'm not too crazy about in-ear headphones and I wanted something that could provide a bit of isolation.

Sound good but uncomfortable

likes: They were only £100 They fold up so I can put them in my laptop bag while travelling and don't take up too much room. The sound is good and gets better as they burn in. I like the bass and it doesn't ruin the midrange and treble too much They are quite discreet.

AKG make microphones and headphones exclusively, so it's fair to expect that whatever they put out to the market is likely to be unquestionably good and perhaps not strictly following exactly the same design bible as all the others out there.

Solid sound quality

I've had these headphones for just over a week, and I'm very impressed. I've worn them for 5 hours with absolutely zero ear fatigue, even though they fit on the ear. Their sound isolation is great: in noisy clubs you can easily hear exactly what you want to when you want to with these.

Rapidly approaching the one-year anniversary of its release, the AKG K181 DJ UE is an updated version of the original K181 released back in 2004. It's a relatively cheap headphone ($119), but still sports some nifty DJ-minded features – a bass boost function and the ability to switch between stereo...

K181DJ - heavyweight contender!

AKG's K181-DJ Headphones may not be the most obvious candidate when looking for a new set of pro-grade DJ cans, but having lasted on the market for quite some time now, it's obvious that they are still proving a popular choice.

Great sound quality; oodles of power; great isolation; free pouch

Tight headband; mini - XLR cable; plastic has weak spots
