WWE '13 Review

If you read my preview for WWE ‘13 , you know that I'm not a particularly big fan of professional wrestling. I don't have anything against it, but I haven't watched it since about the year 2000.

WWE 13 review

The world of sports games--even fake sports games--is dominated by annual franchises that are inconsistent in their changes from year to year. After replacing the annualized SmackDown series with WWE 12 last year, THQ reestablished its pro wrestling prowess with updated graphics and controls.

A massive tribute to a much-loved era; So many creation tools at your disposal; Over 100 different superstars to choose from

Too much nostalgia for newer fans; Gameplay hasn't changed nearly enough; High learning curve on customization options

WWE '13 Review: The return to the Attitude Era leaves us Stone Cold

A tremendously comprehensive package, but neither the pugilism nor the pageantry has us down for the count.

Excellent arenas; crowd and ambiance; Attitude Era is one hell of a nostalgia trip; The best roster in yonks; even without the DLC packages

Awkward; unintuitive countering system; The worst hair models in all of gaming; A tired series that needs a complete refresh

WWE '13 Review

When CM Punk shocked the world over a year ago at WWE's Money in the Bank pay-per-view, many thought it to be the coming of a revolution that would bring about a second "Attitude Era.

'Attitude Era' is a great history lesson; Creative options expanded even more; Online actually works; Massive roster

Inconsistent audio levels in campaign; Same annoying glitches

WWE 13

I've had a hard time following wrestling the past several years.

+ Attitude option + Solid combat system + Amazing opportunities to create own characters

- Boring graphics - Miserable commentators

WWE 13 Review

Professional wrestling is staged. It looks staged. But it's an enjoyable spectacle. However, this spectacle doesn't translate to video games. Video games that look and feel fake are not fun to play…you wouldn't play an FPS with finger guns. As such, WWE '13 isn't enjoyable.

Attitude Era brings back the good old days; The game is as pretty as ever; Customization galore

Incredibly clunky gameplay; Often humorously bad animations; Lack of tutorial or practice mode

WWE '13

When I covered the WWE '13 hands-on preview earlier this month, I hadn't been paying much attention to the wrestling world around me. In fact I think the last time I had seen any sort of wrestling before that was on accident during the summer Olympics.

WWE 13 (PS3)

Wrestling is a multi-billion dollar industry, with millions of viewers enjoying the best of sports entertainment. It is therefore no surprise that wrestling is a crowd favourite when it comes to gaming.

Review: WWE '13

At its core, WWE '13 aimed to outdo last year's edition with the Attitude Era mode, but it's the noticeable little gameplay mechanics, such as the enhanced limb targeting and the "OMG" moments, that really steal the show here.

WWE '13 Review

In my opinion, WWE has had two boom periods. The first was back in the 1980s with Rock n' Roll wrestling with Hulk Hogan and co. -- the product was cartoony, and aimed at kids.
