I remember being skeptical of this game when it first released due to the art style and nautical theme. However, it's easily one of my favorite Zelda games.

So I suppose there's a story on this game for me. To start off I never even finished the original. Even with the expensive component cable I just couldn't get into the game. It was full screen and pixelated! Now, because the games in high definition, I gave it a better chance.
Works great on the Wii U. Graphics aren't the exact same as the original, but that's to be expected. The game itself is just as I remembered too. I'm obsessed!
A really beautiful work of art. Many people were wondering how you make cel animation compatible with HD. Well here you go. They also took all the flaws of the original Wind Waker and ACTUALLY addressed them. Superb. My favorite Zelda game in a VERY long time.
In fact, we'd go so far as to say that this is the best-looking game in this art style we've ever seen. Given the closest competitor - that Wind Waker has beat - is Studio Ghibli and Namco Bandai collaboration Ni no Kuni, that's high praise indeed.
10 years ago Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker on the Gamecube, much to the ire of the gaming community and Nintendo fan-boys and girls alike. The game had been met with no lacking abuse, gestures of hatred at the art design, style, aesthetic, appeal and characters.
Enhanced 1080p Visuals look stunning
Excessive Bloom
For those of you who remember reading the Dealspwn Game of the Year 2012 Highlights will remember me stating that my most anticipated game for this year would be a Zelda Wii U game.
Gorgeous visuals throughout; Great dungeon design and puzzles; Fantastic soundtrack; Emotion and humour not normally seen in Zelda games; Improvements solve major issues with original; Hero Mode makes it feel like a true Zelda game again
If you hated the original; chances are you still won't like this; With all that water; there's still no fishing mini-game
While we all wait for a proper new Zelda game on Wii U, Nintendo has decided to plug the gap with this spruced-up re-release of 2002's The Wind Waker . Before its release for the GameCube, The Wind Waker was controversial among Nintendo fans for going for a cartoony look, comic tone and childish...
A gorgeous new edition of an absolute classic action adventure; with loads of updates; Stunning animation and art style look even better now than they did in 2002; Huge world is a delight to explore; and feels fresher than some other Zelda games
It's a bit easy; with few truly challenging puzzles; If you pay close attention you can spot where some content was cut; Players with short attention spans might still not enjoy the sailing
It's crazy to think that it's been over ten years when the internet went ablaze with comments slating the new art style for the, back then, upcoming The Legend of Zelda game, The Wind Waker for GameCube .
Nintendo has a lot to live up to with Wind Waker HD and in many regards an impossible task at hand - to please a diverse fanbase that want different things. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker holds an odd position within the Zelda series.
A wonderful graphic style updated with HD visuals; Fantastic audio; Still as fun to play as it was ten years ago; Faster sailing
Although you're stuck with slow sailing for quite a while; Full price RRP is arguably steep
