Gem system seems flawed; Online needs tweaks

If the Street Fighter series ever got in a real fight with the Tekken series, Street Fighter would knock it into last week. Street Fighter has made a name for itself as the most balanced, polished, and technical fighter around. Tekken is a juggle-heavy game with two less buttons and farting bears.

Street Fighter X Tekken provides complex combat in an inviting package. The fighting genre needs to become accessible to a wider range of players, and this game takes an important step in the right direction.

Online connectivity is inconsistent

I laughed when a review copy of Street Fighter X Tekken for PS Vita showed up unannounced on my doorstep. "Really, Capcom, you want me to review this? But the stream monsters hate Cross Tekken!

Both Capcom and Namco have created some fantastic crossovers in the past, which is one of the reasons why Street Fighter X (or Cross) Tekken was so intriguing. However, the most fascinating thing about these particular series being combined into a single game is how differently each plays.

Dropping the overall down a point from the original because of certain issues about the way the DLC was presented. At a price tag of $20, and considering a lot of people bought the game full price day one, that brings the game to a price tag of $80, not including other DLC that's offered.

To me twelve new fighters serve as a finite means to extend a game I hadn't played in a few months while hardcore fans whom salivate at the smell of fresh blood will obviously get quite a bit more out of them.
