I won't lie; I wasn't particularly excited to play Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Linear levels, four different Spider-Men, and an unproven developer Correct me if I'm wrong, but that doesn't sound like a winning formula to me.

.... though it really, REALLY tries hard. In Batman AA I loved the fighting mechanics. After playing the challenges, I really appreciated Batman as one of the best fighting titles ever. Well, Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions tries to be a clone, but fails in the fighting scenes.

In the graphic, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions exudes quality. The four protagonists (The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 2099 and Ultimate Spider-Man) are uniquely designed, with fluid movements and an almost perfect interaction with all elements of their environment.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is thoroughly entertaining, but a combination of niggles and obscure design decisions drag it down. Despite that, it's still probably the best Spider-Man game on consoles and is well worth a look for that reason alone. Just don't expect to be blown away.
