This was purchased to replace the same model which was accidentally damaged. This review is of my previous CX240E. This is an excellent camcorder. It fits easily in the pocket and can be instantly available for something unexpected or as a backup HD camcorder.

I bought this item to make adding videos to my website easier. One of the problems I have is talking direct to the viewer which is of course really easy with a big-ish lens - you know where to direct yourself. This camcorder solved that problem.

Good camera that does all I want it to do with a good mic and fair speaker quality. Very good zoom facility and picture quality. A bit fiddly when you need to review your recordings or delete something but I imagine that will get easier as you find your way round the process .

The camera is ok at best, i.e NOT GREAT as it has no in-built memory, except for an external memory card that comes with it. I purchased this item weeks ago. The camera would shut down for no reason. It was suggested that I change the microSD card but that did not help. Sony totally ignored my emails. Also, instructions not very good and no time stamp available on videos.

Have not had time to try it much, but the image quality does not seem so very much better than such a good new mobile phone .... But it has a cruel zoom .... Piece it will be much better video quality with system cameras such as Canon EOS 600D Will update again after I've had time to record videos...
