It takes superb videos and the stabilization is excellent. However, the auto-focus is rather crude, and sometimes slow or doesn't work at all. The main problem is that one is often filming an object or subject with a background that is, obviously, behind that subject.

I have been using two of these cameras, with others, to record bands and dance groups for nearly two years. There are better 4K cameras, of course, but you will pay many times as much for them; this is a lot of camera for the money.

I'm very happy with this 4k camcorder. I upgraded from a Sony CX550V full HD (1080) camcorder, purchased in 2010. In many instances, the 4k resolution is a noticeable improvement over 1080 when played back on my 4k TV.

There's a few limitations for sure. Control of the exposure AND frames per second at the same time. Difficult to create and reduce a depth of field. I don't believe a filter will help with the depth of field as you still have to struggle with the frame speed, but Hey!
