It's a racing game for karting purists, with three difficulty levels to choose from (four including the even harder S-class)...

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed respects and reproduces its source material with such precision that it'll leave Sega fans desperately clinging to the foolish belief that we'll get proper Nights or Burning Rangers sequels one day.

In the kart-racing world, Mario is the unconquered king. Some challengers (such as Crash Team Racing and Diddy Kong Racing) have come close, but ultimately, they eat the plumber's dust.

Smart designs that improve and streamline gameplay Truly overtaking Mario Kart's formula is probably impossible at this point; We're so used to its picture of what a kart racer should be that we have trouble accepting any deviations from its norm.

Sonic & All-stars Racing Transformed brings out the best in karting games.  It is able to stick up for itself and put down all those naysayers who claim every other karting game is a copycat of or not as good as Mario Kart .

When gamers talk about kart racers Mario Kart is seen as the "de facto" standard that all others are compared too. Last year Sega released their own kart game, and although it was fun it did not live up to the standard so many see as the "high mark".

While obvious comparisons can be drawn to Mario Kart , Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed more than deserves to exist in its own right through its ingenious use of transforming stages and alternating vehicles – not to mention its variety of game modes and entertaining co-op play.
