Sigma Ef-610 DG ST Flash

So far so good. Still learning how to use the flash. I wanted a bigger flash than the camera mounted flash but I didn't want to break the bank. I have 2 Sony Camera's. I had to purchase an adapter to use the flash on my Sony A3000, MI flash shoe, $12.00. The flash mounted right up to my A390.

Sigma Photo EF-610 DG ST Flash

Good basic product. Takes a while to get to know were all the settings are but works fine. Wide angle is a little weak from about 10ft on, but I would expect this at 24mm .

low cost works best in normal focal ranges

a little short of light in wide angel from 10ft on

This is the first shoe mount flash to pair with my first SLR. So far I am impressed by the features of the flash using iTTL controls. Bounce flash is capable for anywhere with the amount of tilt and swivel. So far I have been able to use the flash on about 150 pictures on one set of AA batteries.

After much researching of flash units I decided to purchase this Sigma unit for £107 on Amazon UK. First thing you notice when opening the box is just how big this unit is, it looks even bigger when attached to the tiny K-r.

Reasonably cheap P-TTL unit with auto zoom

A bit large and bulky

Sigma is better known for its range of lenses, but it also produces a decent line in flashguns too, with the EF-610 DG ST available for Sigma, Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Sony systems. It's a large flashgun, tipping the scales at 320g, and has the look and feel of a durable piece of kit.

Great flash for the price. It's not going to give you the robustness or quality feel of the Canon and Nikon top speed lights, but for a fill or kicker light it does the job.

It would not link with my Canon

I bought this for my Canon T-3 It would not Flash as needed. Like it was not linking with the Camera. Good unit other than that. And was about 60 less. I returned it and ordered the Canon Speed-lite II
