This is not the best skateboarding game on Xbox 360. However, the Tony Hawk series is not what it used to be, and if you're not a fan of the Skate games, then Shaun White may have what you're looking for. It's fun, has some unique gameplay elements and looks pretty good too.
Shaun White Skateboarding is clearly not trying to take the realism route so why it opted to have a control system similar to Skate's is beyond me. Had the game used simpler controls and ironed out a few of the other issues such as clipping, it may have taken the skateboarding game crown but sadly...
Interesting concept; Nice soundtrack
Awful controls; Graphics aren't that great; Multiplayer is dead
Shaun White Skateboarding (Xbox 360) Shaun White Skateboarding is, as it sounds, a skateboarding game for the Xbox 360. I bought this game because, as some of you may know, I am a big fan of snowboarding and this has also lead me to become quite a fan of skateboarding too, although I cannot...
Skateboarding game .
Really bad controls
Shaun White Skateboarding really isnt a skateboarding game but more of a platformer that uses a skateboard to get around. Its allot of fun. As you pull tricks you change the environment and create jumps and half-pipes while the colour pallet goes from grey to colourful.
Absolute tripe. The control scheme is just too convoluted and half the time doesn't work as it's supposed to. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to this.
Skateboarding is easily one of the most oversaturated genres in video games. So, if someone is planning on making a brand new franchise, they'd better do their best to make it stand out from the crowd. Shaun White Skateboarding's stab at breaking away from the norm is certainly daring.
As boring and dull as the world it's set in, Shaun White Skateboarding fails to impress. Its gameplay is unoriginal but relatively deep; however, it's hidden beneath an overly aggressive focus on a dumb story.
There are two dominant skating games on the market at the moment, Tony Hawke and Skate which have been the heavy hitters for several years now. Sure, they've had their ups and downs but in the grand scheme of things, they are as close to skating as we mere mortals will get.
