Sennheiser E609

For roughly the same price as an SM57, you can have a dedicated guitar amp microphone. It's not the workhorse that the 57 is, but if you're completely aware of what you want to mic things up with, you shouldn't have to worry about not having an ideal microphone anyway.

Impeccable

The product is very good. As for performance, is highly crystalline. These types of elements are very personal. Particularly, I like to capture that achieves this microphone. The finish is robust and very thin at a time.

Buy it

the mic sounds excellent. you can get it exactly where it needs to be for close range guitar cab micing due to the flat design.

The Sennheiser e609 is a great dynamic mic for recording guitar amps both in a studio and live setting, as I have used it in both. I put it right up against the speaker and it comes out great most of the time (of course depending on the amp, guitar, player, etc).

The Sennheiser E609 is a dynamic mic designed specifically with a flat profile for for close miking guitar amps but it's also one of the few mics on the market that offers realistic competition for the sm57 on snare drums particularly with its more defined super cardiod polar pattern.

The first choice in guitar mics. Fantastic

Have 5 of these mics in production inventory. Great sound, similar to an SM57. The ability to just drop over speaker without a stand is what makes the E609 the first choice in guitar mikeing. No extra mic stands to carry or setup. Great build and sound quality.

Just what I needed

I have a variety of situations that require a side address mic. I bought two, as I often have to mic two guitar amps. I have a concert coming up where I have to mic two harmoniums.
