WD is Dabbang and Seagate is Sultan.

People fight for comparisons of WD and Seagate. However i think both the brands are reliable than any other brand in India.... I prefer the finish quality, colors and look of Seagate over WD and secondly near me i have seen more WDs than Seagate..

I bought this 2 days back but not from Naaptol. The HDD is simply great, too small and light. Just plug and play. I am using in on Windows and Linux both. For this you have to format it with NTFS and allocation unit size should be maximum at 64kilobytes then you will get max read and write speed.

Seagate Backup Plus Fast review: Double the capacity, double the speed

Seagate has upped the performance ante for portable backup hard drives by stacking two 2TB drives, striped in RAID 0, inside its Backup Plus Fast USB...

Very fast; 4TB of capacity; Very low cost per gigabyte

Very difficult to recover from a RAID 0 failure; Thicker and heavier than single-drive alternatives

good.simple. no problems.

I use it as a secondary drive for my iMac desktop. I've had it for about 8months and can't say I've had any problems with it. I do not use it extensively, so perhaps if you read/write a lot to it, you may want to spend more for a "better" drive.

Seagate Backup Plus Fast

The Backup Plus Fast is by far the speediest and highest-capacity hard-drive-based USB 3.0 portable storage device to date. This latest member of Seagate's Backup Plus family of compact external hard drives achieves that by combining two internal hard drives on the inside in a RAID 0 configuration,...

The Seagate Backup Plus Fast is indeed extremely fast, and includes helpful backup software; The drive also provides top capacity, and is bus-powered

Users can't change the internal drives; the RAID 0 setup might result in a higher risk of data loss

Good only for archive

Good for archive , need to buy 2 similar hard drive and copy your data to two hard drive together. If one hard drive stop working you will have another copy.

8 TB - very high capacity for this size hard drive. Good price for this size

Slow recording after recording files for 2-3 minutes; Speed drop down up to 10 times !!! Very poor chance of recovery after a fall or shock this type hard drive. Poor build quality and performance of the device Hard drive have 6 platters and 12 heads + Shingled Magnetic Recording (SMR) technology

Decent portable HDD

It's nice to see USB 3.0 adoption but their isn't really any reason for this device to use USB 3.0 since it is an HDD and can't really saturate the USB 2.0 link to begin with. I am happy it uses the usb 3.0 full size micro USB connector since it isn't as delicate as the 2.0 connector but still would...

Before I continue I just want to get this out of the way; this is an external hard drive, no more, no less. I just want to make sure that everyone is aware because there is only so much you can expect from a piece of storage media like this.

Other than the obvious cons of using an HDD over an SSD I didn't see too many issues with this device other than the connectivity; One of the most annoying problems is that every time you want to plug the drive into a Windows PC you need to install drivers.

Not so simple to use with a PC

The package said compatible with PC's or MAC. To use with PC, you have to go to their website, format it, and then re-format it to remove all the junk the first format puts on it. Seems to work OK as a back-up drive. Nice small size.

A personal back up tool for myself

Often I am put in a position where I lose out on important files which I had stored on my computer either due to virus or human error. This is why I purchased this Seagate 500GB USB 3.0 portable hard drive which I use to back up all important documents, files, folders, pictures, videos and other...
