It's nice to see USB 3.0 adoption but their isn't really any reason for this device to use USB 3.0 since it is an HDD and can't really saturate the USB 2.0 link to begin with. I am happy it uses the usb 3.0 full size micro USB connector since it isn't as delicate as the 2.0 connector but still would...

Before I continue I just want to get this out of the way; this is an external hard drive, no more, no less. I just want to make sure that everyone is aware because there is only so much you can expect from a piece of storage media like this.

Other than the obvious cons of using an HDD over an SSD I didn't see too many issues with this device other than the connectivity; One of the most annoying problems is that every time you want to plug the drive into a Windows PC you need to install drivers.

Amazingly my laptop got filled up very quickly with photos of family, friends, events etc. I take a lot of videos using my Ipod Touch 5th Gen which has very high MB when saving and I use my Nokia Lumia 1020 which has a 41 Megapixel camera so photos save at around 30mb a time.

I bought this 2 days back but not from Naaptol. The HDD is simply great, too small and light. Just plug and play. I am using in on Windows and Linux both. For this you have to format it with NTFS and allocation unit size should be maximum at 64kilobytes then you will get max read and write speed.

A handsomely designed drive with good software, the Slim is a fine performer at a mass-market price. It's a good choice for anyone shopping for a solid portable hard drive.

I am using this disc as a Time Machine backup disc on my iMAC. It just does the job. It also takes up very little space.

This is a good drive, it's fast. USB 3 97mb/s read. Also, it never fails to detect or work and so is reliable. The only reason I didn't give it a fifth star is because you are paying a few pounds more for the red case, but for some it's worth it.

Good value. Initially I installed the optional "Seagate Dashboard". Since this 2TB drive is for Apple's Time Machine, this was a mistake. Dashboard yields nothing of value. Worse, it clobbered the Desktop icons for Time Machine.
