Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) review

Upgrades to the screen, S-Pen functionality, and features make this a significant improvement over the original Note 10.1. The combination of multi-tasking functionality and incredible power under the bonnet already make this exciting.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 review

If you want to use your tablet as a digital sketchbook, Samsung's Galaxy Note range has been pretty much your only choice for a while now. The pressure-sensitive S-pen stylus is unique to Samsung, and it keeps gaining new features with every new device.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition Review

The original Galaxy Note 10.1 was designed to be the first true Android content creation tablet, but its low-resolution display and somewhat confusing pen software kept it from being a top pick. Now Samsung is back with the Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition (starting at $549 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB).

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Review

Can Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 take on the iPad Air?

Attractive and easy-to-use design; Decent power; Great display; Innovative multitasking functions; Accurate and responsive stylus; Stacks of storage space plus microSD

Skeumorphic design may be off-putting to some; Exynos processor model a bit behind on performance

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)

The Galaxy Note 10.1 is expensive by tablet standards. At £450 for the basic 16GB version, it's even more expensive than the iPad Air and doesn't offer quite the same premium design. However, this is justified by what you get for your money. This really is the top tablet for power-hungry users.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) review

As PC sales continue to shrink, the notion of a productivity-friendly tablet is becoming increasingly popular – at least among device makers. Microsoft's original Surface and Surface RT made a big splash, ultimately sank, but that hasn't stopped the company from trying again, with the recent...

Standout multi-tasking features; Ultra-high-resolution display; Top-notch specs; S Pen is a better fit here than on the Note 3; Improved aesthetics over previous model

More expensive than the current-generation iPad; Some performance glitches persist; despite high-end specs; Abundance of features can be confusing
