Cannot use with a Nexus 5

Got this as a present and seemed like a cool little device. Unfortunately I was not able to download the Gear Fit Manager app for my Nexus 5. Kept getting a message saying "This device does not support Gear Fit". Its a shame the app is only available for newer Samsung handsets.

Good product for the price.

It's good for what i need it to do. However the step counter is a little off at times and heart rate sensor can be hard to use. The horizontal display takes some getting used to but I am overall happy with it.

Samsung Gear Fit

The Gear Fit looks the part, but when it comes to results, it doesn't make the podium. Like many Samsung devices, it's a jack of all trades, master of none. Its fitness skills are left wanting, while the screen is too cramped to make it a decent smartwatch.

The Gear Fit looks the part, but when it comes to results, it doesn't make the podium. Like many Samsung devices, it's a jack of all trades, master of none. Its fitness skills are left wanting, while the screen is too cramped to make it a decent smartwatch.

The Gear Fit's curved Super AMOLED display looks great, and it's responsive and bright too; It wraps around your wrist, making for a more natural fit than other smartwatches; Inside, it's easy to read, but sunlight completely kills the screen.

While Samsung has pretty much nailed the hardware, the software leaves a lot to be desired; It runs Samsung's own OS – not Tizen or Android – which means it can't use third-party apps; This really limits what it can do; The battery life is middling at best.

Samsung Gear Fit Review: Witness The Fitness

Can Samsung's Gear Fit truly compliment your smartphone experience?

Great screen; Decent design; Smooth performance; Good fitness features; Water proof

Specifically pairs with Samsung S Health equipped smartphone (Galaxy S5) and doesn't do anything the phone can't do; Expensive

Samsung Gear Fit

The Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit is a cross between a fitness tracker and a smartwatch. That means you have the ability to monitor and log daily activities, like walking or cycling, and get smartphone functionality like the ability to reject incoming calls or control music.

Nice; bright display; Heart rate integration for exercise activities; Useful media controller

Poor battery life; Data-logging issues with S Health; Sleep tracking not very insightful; Heart rate sensor is temperamental

Dreaming of the perfect wearable

I'm in the final stretch. My legs are aching; I'm drenched in sweat. The finish line is near, I can feel it. My wrist buzzes. An email: Amazon finally shipped my order of Rice Krispies Treats...

Great display; Handsome design; Comfortable strap

Inaccurate step counting and heart rate readings; Awkward screen dimensions; Limited smartwatch functions

Wouldn't not recommend this and hoping ATT takes it back

The features are the reason I bought this, I can call my phone when I lose it, read my texts as they come in and play music. The main reason I bought it was for the pedometer which does not work right. Put the watch on as soon about I bought it from ATT drove home it caluculated 374 steps.

Not all that I expected

I am disappointed that the only Excercise options are Walking, Running, Hiking. I was hoping to count calories if I was doing other items like taking group class, on exercise bike, working in the yard.

Easy To Use; Low Power Consumption; Quality Construction

Limited Exercise Options

Nah, only get this if it goes under $100. Fitbit does better than this, even though it does not do notification synching and no big, curved screen. Fitbit's also got a better battery life. PS. The Gear Fit2 is a huge improvement over this thing. Get it if you consider it cheap.

Curved; amoled screen; Some neat features including HRM; Great battery life; Notification sync

Design is nice, but the narrow width makes it look kinda weird, Build quality is a meh--plastic everywhere; Except for the stiff-ish silicone band, Steps can get really inaccurate sometimes
