Fun but could be better

1. The 2nd version of game made interesting this time is that you actually have a companion to travel with, she/he helps you during battle and occasionally poke in a few lines while you talked to the villagers.

its not as great as the blockbuster rpg games eg. Skyrim, Wittcher 2, etc but it is still worth playing. The settings is fun too.

Disappointment

As you have probably seen by the previous reviews, there are some serious glitches. These glitches cannot be overlooked in the manner that they are portraying. In the span of 20 minutes, I died 5-6 times on the easiest difficulty for several reasons.

Risen 2: Dark Waters Review

The first Risen had some great ideas, but was a technical mess on the consoles. Piranha Bytes have taken over duties for the port themselves this time, so does it pay off? The game even had extra time in development to ensure it was all perfect, so here's hoping!

Buggy and far from perfect but a lot fun

If you played and enjoyed Risen its safe to assume you'll enjoy Risen 2 as it has the same Pros & Cons. Risen 2 is far from being a polished tripe-A title but if you can look past the mediocre graphics, buggy animations, and occasional severe framerate drops what you'll find is a charming,...

Funny Dialogue; Gameplay; Quest Variety; Unique Setting

Buggy; Severe Framerate Drops; Slow Character Levelling

Unpolished but a lot of fun!

If you played and enjoyed Risen you'll probably like Risen 2 as it's a worthy follow-up. It definitely has it's problems but if you can look past those flaws there's a gem of a game underneath and there are plenty of things to love about it.

Risen 2: Dark Waters

If there's one genre that the 360 has no shortage of, it's action-RPGs. From sci-fi to Skyrim , medieval to Mass Effect, the console is positively drowning in open-world adventures – there are just too bloody many of them.

Decent pirate tale

I found this game to have a somewhat interesting story. One that grabbed just enough of my attention to keep wanting to play it.

Story can be interesting

I've played games on the first Xbox that looked better than this

Risen 2: Dark Waters (Xbox 360) Review

Risen 2: Dark Waters strives to deliver something we really haven't seen before, an open-world pirate RPG that tempts players with the allure of a fully realized swashbuckling fantasy.  Given that the developers of Risen 2 have chosen a pirate theme, it has a unique advantage over other open-world...
