Resident Evil Review

Resident Evil was my sole reason for buying a GameCube upon its release back in 2002 (well, that and Resident Evil 4). A remake of the 1996 original was just too good a prospect to pass up, bearing in mind that this was long before the market became flooded with the damn things.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is half SOCOM, half Left 4 Dead, and half-finished (review)

Check out GamesBeat's Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City guide for tips, exploits, collectibles, and secret achievements!

Diverse multiplayer The entire campaign can be completed in roughly 3-4 hours (there are only seven chapters averaging 30 minutes a pop); Like with Halo or Left 4 Dead, part of the fun is going back and trying to master the hardest difficulties with friends.

Poorly designed gameplay Developer Slant Six Games comes from a long line of SOCOM games, though none of them were considered close to the zenith of that franchise; They've managed to capture the bare necessities of a competent shooter in ORC, but also racked up an exceedingly long list of "don'ts"...

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Xbox 360

Four player co-op zombie killing is hardly an original concept so it would take something special from Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City to really...

Decent multiplayer modes; Theoretically interesting to explore old events from new perspective

Tedious campaign; Shocking AI; Little actual co-operation required from co-op play; Lacking in atmosphere

I really, really, REALLY wanted to like this. It was my first full Resident Evil experience too, but after playing the single-player, I am ashamed that it. The controls were confusing, the layouts of maps were terrible, the AI was horrendous, there weren't enough checkpoints (IMO) and the campaign...

Fission Mailed

While Capcom is no stranger to turning out sequels to successful franchises, it's less common for them to offer an installment that's wildly divergent from the source material. However, that's exactly the case with Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City .

Seeing the Raccoon Police station rendered in gorgeous HD for the first time ever

Firing a full clip of assault rounds into a hunter as it yawns indifferently

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Review

The Resident Evil franchise has been around for what seems like an eternity, both because its horror genre is a gameplay stalwart and because, well, it's been around for 15 years. Like many franchises it's evolved out of necessity, with an increased emphasis on action rather than relying strictly on...

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon ...

Capcom isn't sure what it wants to do with the Resident Evil series. Should it be an action game or survival horror Scary or thrilling One thing is for sure, it definitely shouldn't be like Operation Raccoon City.

(Xbox 360 Review) Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has the germ of a good game, but a lot of work remains if the design's potential is to be realized. By no means a bad game, Operation Raccoon City is just a very unpolished one, with inconsistency being a persistent problem throughout all modes: AI squadmates...
