Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Review

It may have it faults, but I still think Resident Evil fans as well as co-op shooter fans will still get some enjoyment out of Operation Raccoon City.

+ Nice back-story to RE2 and RE3; + Good co-op play; + Tons to upgrade and unlock; + Has moments of brilliance

Stupid AI teammates; Some broken matchmaking; Some mechanics aren?¢?¢a€¢a€¢t explained; Melee attacks are somewhat broken

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

The real trouble with Resident Evil: ORC is that the underdeveloped gameplay and technical issues keep getting in the way of multiplayer fun, which was the point of the game. Resident Evil fans shouldn't expect the quality that was present in games like Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.

A few cool moments for fans; nice atmosphere

Technical issues everywhere; gameplay is flawed; there's little in this game to guarantee a solid and addictive multiplayer experience

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Since its origins as a survival-horror game where players warily explore a mansion teeming with the undead, Resident Evil has gradually moved to a much more action-oriented focus - a shift that's reached its peak with this four-player, squad-based shooter.

+ Wreaking havoc in the series' iconic locales is loads of fun - if you're playing with other people; + Numerous references; characters; and foes from classic

? Why are melee strikes so weak

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

There's a reason that co-op shooters like Syndicate and Left 4 Dead have comprehensible rules regarding the placement of ammo stashes; the resulting ebb and flow allows you to focus on the shooting and gives teams a moment to refresh and regroup.

A chance to see events from the Resident Evil series from a new angle; Competitive play offers brief thrills

Intrinsically flawed cover system; Bullet-sponge enemies and scarcity of ammo make for dull action; Stupid AI; All sorts of sloppy details derail the fun

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

It would've been very easy for Capcom to make Operation Raccoon City a naked cash run, and to its credit, it isn't. A simple Call of Duty clone with Resident Evil branding all over it would probably have moved a few million units before anyone noticed, but they've gone the extra mile to make ORC ,...

Review: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Fresh off the presses of Capcom comes the next installment in the iconic Resident Evil franchise: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City . This time, the reins were passed to Slant Six Games, formerly of the SOCOM series.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Ita€?s not enough to save Operation Raccoon City though, which ultimately is a title that feels too rushed to warrant any great investment on the part of the player. That ita€?s sold in such high numbers (at time of writing ita€?s number one in Japan) says a lot about the strength of the Resident...

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Xbox 360 Review

We've already seen Resident Evil get reinvented in the past, and it's also a series that has been cast by Capcom into various genres over the years. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a neat twist on what has come before, with a reimagining of the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis...

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Gamers love team-based and cooperative shooters, but only when they're done right. With Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Capcom and Slant Six have attempted to capitalize on that market.

Resident Evil Review

I love coming back to , and this version does a good job of updating the look and feel of an old game for a modern audience. Some of the older visual flaws detract from the experience and pulled me out of tense moments, but the gameplay hooked me right back in.

Classic survival horror; Great atmosphere; Modern controls

Blurry textures; Clipping
