Philips Fidelio S2

The Philips Fidelio S2 are high-quality earphones with a superbly-tuned sound and great build quality. They can't quite compete with top multi-driver earphones, but it's a good first-wave effort from Philips.

Excellent sound tuning; Strong build

Tricky to fit; A little expensive

Philips Fidelio S2 review

The Fidelio S2s provide great sound, but the cheaper S1 is a better buy

Very happy - read for my setup

Very happy with these. Was initially concerned about the bass and I had to learn which one went in which ear (don't laugh). The cable weight makes them a bit awkward when plugged into my iPod touch so I bought a cheap Bluetooth receiver - which fits into the nice carry case that came with the...

Philips Fidelio S2 Earphone

Recent earphones that have passed through the AVForums review process have been from brands that are either new (Kitsound and RHA) or older but rather less well known (Final). Smooth and involving sound; Excellent build; Comfortable to wear

Very sensitive to fitment; Pricey for a dynamic driver design; Does leak some noise

Philips Fidelio S2

As list in the summary, I don't like this product, and I will not buy any product from Philips because of the post-sale service.

Golden looks; flatcable; cable case; a pack of earpieces

Lack of bass; harsh midhigh; almost ess in female vocal songs; aggressive lead guitar

Philips Fidelio S2

Making your new in-ears standout in an flood of similarly sized and shaped in-ears must be a tricky business, which is presumably why Philips has gone with gold flourishes on its otherwise black plastic new S2s, the first in-ears to carry the Fidelio name.

Clear; focused vocals; Good depth to bass; Thoughtful design

Fussy fit; A little too hard and uncompromising; Bass lacks a bit of kick
