The latest OnePlus 12 flagship is here - but does it iterate enough? Short answer: yes

Sony LYT-808 sensor superb, ProXDR display is epic, Premium performance

Price increase, Few colour options, Need a 50W wireless charger

OnePlus 12 5G (12GB RAM, 256GB, Silky Black) - Brand New review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

OnePlus 12 5G (12GB RAM, 256GB, White) - Brand New review

“The OnePlus 12 is a tremendous smartphone value — and one of the top Android phones to beat in 2024.”

Beautiful curved display, Flowy Emerald is a truly unique color, Powerful performance, Hasselblad camera system delivers great results, Two-day battery, Very fast wired and wireless charging

Back glass is slippery, Curved screen has some annoyances, Large size can be unwieldy

OnePlus 12 5G (12GB RAM, 256GB, Silky Black) - Brand New review

More like an iPhone 13S. The generational upgrades for the iPhone 14 are limited to a few subtle changes. At the same time, however, the base price climbs to 800 USD, while the only true innovation happens inside the iPhone 14 Pro series.

excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of supported frequencies, great camera, very fast performance, good battery life

display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

OnePlus 12 5G (12GB RAM, 256GB, White) - Brand New review

The OnePlus 12 has a lot to live up to. Fortunately, it - almost - fulfills the expectations.

Brilliantly good and very bright screen, improved camera, bigger battery, wireless charging and really good sound. And 'Aqua Touch' is a really welcome new feature.

Must make do with IP65 certification. Despite optimised cooling, the phone still heats up quickly. Benchmark measurement of the processor shows results on par with the predecessor.

OnePlus 12 5G (12GB RAM, 256GB, White) - Brand New review

If you're in the market for an Android phone right now, you can do a lot worse than OnePlus. Their new flagship is packed with top tech which is not just good for now, but should ensure your handset stays good for the foreseeable future.

Some great camera options, Sumptuous design, Gaming phone levels of power, Astounding battery life

Some cameras don't make the grade, More slippery than a bar of soap

OnePlus 12 5G (12GB RAM, 256GB, White) - Brand New review

If you’re considering the OnePlus 12, you should buy it, because OnePlus knows its audience well, and this phone was made for your needs. It’s the coolest-looking phone in a long time, maybe ever, while others are boring metal slabs.

Very cool look and design, especially in emerald green, Amazing battery life and stellar performance, Unique cameras take terrific portraits and selfies

Only splash-resistant, can’t take a dunk underwater, Not as many years of updates as Samsung, Google, or Apple, No new AI features or titanium frame to brag on

OnePlus 12 5G (12GB RAM, 256GB, White) - Brand New review

The OnePlus 12 ticks plenty of boxes, from premium display tech to capable Hasselblad-branded cameras and reliable all-day battery life. However, the hefty price hike is a tad disappointing, especially with lacklustre durability compared to similarly priced alternatives, and there’s no AI tech here...

Large, mega-bright curved screen, Consistently solid camera performance, OxygenOS is a visual treat, Excellent battery life

No AI features, Performance is slower than similarly specced phones, IP65 resistance falls short for the price
