Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200MM F/4-6.3 VR Lens - Brand New review

The Nikon Z 24-200mm f4.0-6.3 VR is a clever alternative to the Nikon Z 24-70mm f4.0 S. It may lack about one stop light gathering power once you zoom beyond 50mm focal length but the versatility of the lens reaching beyond 70mm up to 200mm is not to be underestimated.

Nikon Nikkor Z 24-200mm F4-6.3 VR Review

Photographers choose all-in-one zoom lenses out of convenience. These lenses cover everything from wide angles to modest telephoto, so you don't have to carry more than one or swap out glass when out making photos. The Nikon Nikkor Z 24-200mm F4-6.3 VR ($899.99) is an example of one done right—it has plenty of zoom power, delivers sharp results, and is sized perfectly for full-frame Z cameras. The modest f-stop means it's best suited for use in daylight and the focus motor isn't as assertive as pro-grade Nikkor lenses, but those are very reasonable compromises. The 24-200mm is a fine example of what an all-in-one lens should be, and a good match for Z photographers after a one-lens solution for travel and walks about town. The Practical Superzoom Lens The Z 24-200mm F4-6.3 VR is reasonably sized, especially when compared with big zooms like the AF-S 28-300mm for Nikon SLR systems. The Z lens comes in at 4.5 by 3.0 inches (HD) and about 1.3 pounds. The barrel extends when zoomed in,...

The Nikkor Z 24-200mm F4-6.3 VR is built well, covers a wide range of angles, and nets sharp photos. It isn't a low-light wonder, but it's still a superzoom lens worth buying.

Big coverage range; Full-frame compatibility; Sharp results; Dust, splash, and anti-smudge fluorine; Stabilized optics

A little slow to focus; Narrow aperture limits low-light use; Sensitive control ring isn't that useful

Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200MM F/4-6.3 VR Lens - BRAND NEW review

The Nikon Nikkor Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR is a complex lens in terms of construction and also in terms of performance. However, there's no doubt that as a general-purpose travel zoom it could be just so useful that any disadvantages become far outweighed.

Superb sharpness where it counts, No flare, Virtually no central CA, Light and compact, Fast, silent AF, Silent aperture control, Nice bokeh, Close focusing, Weather resistance, Vignetting can be a creative advantage, Excellent VR performance

Very restricted maximum apertures, Edge CA at 200mm (correctable), Vignetting (correctable), Distortion (correctable)

Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200MM F/4-6.3 VR Lens - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 isn’t a huge upgrade on the iPhone 13, yet it still is a great phone with a top camera, good battery life and all the iOS benefits.

Clever safety features, Very good battery life, Reliable camera, Fun colours, You’ve got an ageing iPhone: If you’re on an iPhone 11 or older, then the changes here will make a notable difference.

Stuck on a 60Hz display, Minimal differences to the iPhone 13, You’ve got an iPhone 13: The changes from Apple’s previous phone aren’t enough to warrant an upgrade this year.

Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200MM F/4-6.3 VR Lens - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200MM F/4-6.3 VR Lens - Brand New review

“The iPhone 14 isn't a huge upgrade compared to its predecessor. But with a great design, screen, performance, and cameras, that's far from a bad thing at all.”

Comfortable, high-end build, OLED screen looks fantastic, A15 chip performs great, Good camera upgrades, Dependable battery life, Helpful safety features

60Hz display, No telephoto camera, eSIM might be a pain for some

Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200MM F/4-6.3 VR Lens - Brand New review

More like an iPhone 13S. The generational upgrades for the iPhone 14 are limited to a few subtle changes. At the same time, however, the base price climbs to 800 USD, while the only true innovation happens inside the iPhone 14 Pro series.

excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of supported frequencies, great camera, very fast performance, good battery life

display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200MM F/4-6.3 VR Lens - BRAND NEW review

While the Nikkor Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR isn’t particularly fast at longer focal lengths, it’s an impressive lens for its type. And while it may not please perfectionists, it’s a good match for the Nikon Z5 camera and caters very well for travellers and family photographers who want a single lens that...
