I decided to purchase this "range extender" and I had trouble immediately from set up. I tried contacting NetGear and after spending around 4 hours on the phone with their technical support I got absolutely nowhere. A real waste of money. Very upsetting.

I was experiencing problems with being able to connect to my parents network. The computer, wireless network and router is located at the furthest end of a ranch home and I was trying to connect from the other end of the ranch without much success. Modifies the MAC address of devices on the extended network (against the rules for MAC address assignment) before passing them on, making dynamic IP reservations a pain.

Will extend your wireless network...for a while...until it quits working and needs a reboot

Locks up - after a few hours to a few days; completely stops routing packets from the extended network to the primary network; requiring you to unplug the device to reset
