The Netgear Universal WN3000RP is the second of the Wi-Fi boosters manufactured by Netgear. This particular device is much smaller than the WN2000RPT and plugs into a wall outlet to power-up.

This Wi-Fi booster has an optimal coverage option to show where the unit should be placed for the best connection possible

Phone support only lasts 90 days from product purchase date

Netgear WN3000RP Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender review

Wireless networks can be fantastic - eliminating the need to trail Ethernet cables across our homes just to connect to the internet, or stream media from one PC to another. But often their Achilles' heel is range.

According to the company, this unit "extends your wireless network to include the area outside the range of your existing wireless router by overcoming obstacles and enhancing overall network signal quality, giving you the freedom to roam anywhere in the house and access Internet without worrying

Useless!

My experience with this product wasn't what I was expecting. My wireless network is running all NetGear equipment and runs really well, but I had a minor dead spot that I needed to resolve. This sold itself as the perfect solution. It wasn't, it in fact gave me a worse signal than the router alone.

I purchased this hoping to advert running cable upstairs. It was a waste of time and money. To run Cat5 Cable means I have to remove moldings and drill holes etc. thru floors. I just didn't want to do that.

Easy set up and sync with router

Low signal - I have the extender located directly above my existing Router, the only thing in between is a floor! POOR SIGNAL; DO NOT INVEST YOUR MONEY IN THIS.

Quick. Easy. Powerful.

Pure Junk

Modifies the MAC address of devices on the extended network (against the rules for MAC address assignment) before passing them on, making dynamic IP reservations a pain.

Will extend your wireless network...for a while...until it quits working and needs a reboot

Locks up - after a few hours to a few days; completely stops routing packets from the extended network to the primary network; requiring you to unplug the device to reset

Installed not fully tested

We have installed the extender, but don't have all of the security cameras up yet so I don't know if it is going to do the job. It has extended the Wifi into the back yard.

Stability

Worked great until hurricane Harvey blew the house away. Lost everything in the storm. Once we get the debris cleared and rebuild I'll probably buy another one.
