Need for Speed: Rivals

Need for Speed: Rivals is a wholly enjoyable open-world racer. The driving is solid, its streets are a joy to explore, and its racing assignments--though a bit repetitive at times--are incentive enough to keep you coming back for more.

Absolutely gorgeous; evolving next-gen environments; Redview is replete with both AI and real-life rivals; Some of the slickest controls this side of a Burnout game

The few reasons youre given to upgrade your car; Impact damage is dealt haphazardly

Need for Speed Rivals not so wanted

Welcome to Redview County, where a street-racing rivalry between cops and racers never stops as both sides compete in an all-out war to take over the social, local and national media and earn the best cars, mods and technology. Risk Everything. Trust No One.

Need for Speed: Rivals Review

A fun, engaging arcade racer with thrills, spills, explosions and crashes aplenty, Need for Speed: Rivals is let down by the largely pointless AllDrive and a lack of race types. A mixed bag.

Need For Speed: Rivals

The Need For Speed series has suffered from a severe identity crisis in recent years, a problem that EA and Criterion seemed to have solved with Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit in 2010, one of my personal favourites of the franchise.

Need for Speed Rivals Xbox 360 Review

Other console/handheld formats: PS3, PS4, Xbox One At the end of the last generation I reviewed Need for Speed Carbon on the original Xbox. And now as the generation changes the latest Need for Speed also straddles the generations.

Racing games generally aren't a one size fits all genre. There are many different forms, from open-world racing, realistic racing, and adrenaline junkies seeking a rush. There is no question which one of the three that Need for Speed Rivals falls under.

All in all, Need for Speed: Rivals is a fun meshing of ideas from Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit to create a unique new take on the series. The seamless integration of multiplayer into your single-player world is very well done and really does add a lot to the experience if you want it to.

Nice presentation; single-player / multiplayer integration is well done; fun handling; interesting progression system

Not much customization; dumb story; glitches; gotta pre-order to get a GTR ..
