PS3 Review – MySims SkyHeroes

While the MySims franchise is not a new series, MySims SkyHeroes is the first title from the series to be released on the PlayStation 3. The game is developed by The Sims Studio and published by none other than Electronic Arts.

+ Lots of customizations available to characters and vehicles

What starts out as a simple but entertaining aerial jaunt quickly becomes monotonous and shallow, making it hard to justify its price tag.

There's a scene in the Story mode in MySims SkyHeroes where the elder pilot of SkyForce (the group of pilots fighting the evil MorcuCorp) asks everyone if they know what he's about to ask them to do.

Simple and responsive controls

Cheap enemy AI; Teammates don't really function as teammates; Multiplayer has no longevity; Little variety to missions

MySims SkyHeroes

MySims SkyHeroes isn't quite full retail price (it comes in at $49.99) on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, but it seems like the game tries its best to make it worth the normal cost. The problem is SkyHeroes stretches two relatively shallow, albeit accessible, game types over an excessively long Story...

PS3/X360 Review - 'MySims SkyHeroes'

The MySims series started off as a simpler version of The Sims geared toward younger gamers, a move made evident by the fact that it appeared on the Nintendo Wii first. The Sims were transformed to look like more detailed Miis, and players were given full control over constructing and decorating...

Review: MySims: Sky Heroes (Sony PS3)

It's been a while since Crimson Skies was released, back in the days of the old Xbox. Since that time a few games have tried to duplicate its mixture of flying, shooting and multiplayer mayhem, but like KFC's 13 herbs and spices, nobody has managed to do it.

Perfect game.

I bought this video game on a whim some months ago. Not only did it turn out to be one of the deepest, enthralling, and most perfect game I had ever played, but it was also fun. The final boss against SPOILERS Morcubus and his giant battleship SPOILERS sees your MySim and his friends coming together...

The previous reviewer doesn't touch on reasons in any depth

Okay, so mySims Sky Heroes isn't going to win any awards for gaming. But neither does it deserve a low 1 out of 5 rating. I've played a fair few games in my time, and it's nowhere near a 'terrible' game, definitely not a 1. But to be fair, it's not a 5 out of 5 either.

Fly Game for a No Fly Zone Player(s)

I'm not a flying combat type of player and the last game I played was likely Blazing Angels and Disney's Up. The story moves along quickly, the controls are well explained in the tutorial to save you time in reading through instruction manuals, and the combat is enough of a challenge for a casual...
