Xbox One X is a remarkable piece of hardware, but it isn't a console for 2017. It's hardware for the future that serves Microsoft's continuing recuperation plan. All Microsoft needs are games that make players as excited as PlayStation exclusives like Spider-Man and The Last of Us: Part 2, but...

Xbox One X Review: It's the Next, Next Generation of Gaming

If you don't already own an Xbox One, and have a 4K TV, it's worth getting. Otherwise, you should wait and see what 4K enhanced games come out as time goes on – it's not a worthwhile upgrade, yet.

Microsoft Xbox One X review: The ultimate 4K gaming console, but at a price

This is a tricky one. The Xbox One X is indeed a powerful console compared to the PlayStation 4 Pro, at least in terms of raw power. But that should not be the only deciding factor to go with the Xbox One X. In terms of price at least, the gap between the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X isn't huge.

Pleased

It was easy to hook up. I don't like all the time it took to update online and download the games. However, it works well. With it, I also bought the 2-year X box live subscription at Sam's, along with an extra controller, 2-controller charger, a headset, and a $100 Xbox card to purchase games...

Xbox One X review: Still the most powerful console

This review was last updated by Digital Trends contributor Cody Perez on 5/15/2020. When Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One X, an upgraded version of the Xbox One with an intimidating $500 price tag, it claimed the new hardware would be “the most powerful console ever made.” Years later, with the console in hand, we can confirm that the Xbox One X makes good on that promise. Well, at least until the Xbox Series X comes out later this year, that is. However, power on its own doesn’t always translate to improvements. Both loyal Xbox fans and potential PS4-owning converts are itching to know – does the most powerful Xbox truly improve games new and old? Short answer? It does. Every game we’ve played, whether it received an “Xbox One X Enhanced” patch or not, delivered a noticeable performance boost over the Xbox One and Xbox One S. It does this regardless of your setup — though the gain is most noticeable if you have a 4K HDR10 TV. While games look and run better, though, the differences are...

Improves performance for all games; Xbox One X Enhanced games look and run amazing; 4K UHD Blu-Ray player; Sleek design; Very easy to use;

4K recording options are limited; Timeliness of Xbox One Enhanced patches is unclear; Performance improvements can be unpredictable in non-Enhanced games;

Review: Xbox One X

The Xbox One X is touted as Microsoft's answer to 4K console gaming. It's designed to be the most powerful console ever, packing a staggering amount of processing power and memory into a frame that's no bigger than the dinky Xbox One S.

Xbox One X review: Great hardware, but where are the games?

Sharp design; powerful hardware; supported 4K HDR games look stunning

Expensive; lacks compelling exclusives; few enhanced games available at launch
