Never owned a PS so I can't compare. Last console I owned was a Super Nintendo (wife had an XBOX 360 when we met that was rarely hooked up), so my first foray into current-gen consoles. Ex PC player mostly, though haven't played games much since before we had kids.

Xbox One X Review: The ultimate entertainment machine

The Xbox One X is strong competition for the PS4 Pro, boasting impressive boundary-bashing performance, packed into a relatively compact chassis. For £449 you get a comprehensive entertainment machine, with future-proof gaming and media streaming functionality.

Incredible performance; Surprisingly compact; 4K home cinema functionality

Happy happy happy

I bought this as a little treat to myself after all my hard work that I've been doing. I've never really been in to games so I thought I would give it a go and I must say I love it thank you to a.o for speedy delivery and at a great price for the bundle might I add

Heck! This is an amazing console. 4k and HDR and the graphics are simply unbelievable. Sometimes you have to stop during a game and just take the detail in. If you are wanting blow your mind graphics then no point looking elsewhere.

Xbox One X Review [UPDATE]

Microsoft is winning the media war with Sony here in late 2017. Just as the holiday season rolls up here in 2017, it almost feels as though Microsoft's Xbox is the only competitor in their class.

High quality console performance; Form factor smaller and more slick than predecessors; Backwards compatible with a wide variety of games; Compatible with previous Xbox One controllers; accessories; etc; 4K UHD and HDR10 in full effect

Only comes in black (at launch; Power button remains unrepentantly attractive to toddler fingers; Controller should come with rechargeable batteries; Self-repair voids any/all hardware warranty

Xbox One X review: Stacked with power and potential

We've been writing about the Xbox One X for so long, even before the "Project Scorpio" was announced at E3 2016, that it doesn't really feel like a new console. And, to be honest, in many ways it isn't.

Super speedy; packed with power and potential; native 4K gaming at 60fps; great 4K Blu-ray player; Dolby Atmos support

Needs a bigger library of "enhanced" games to give it true purpose; no Dolby Vision support for video

Xbox One X Review – Ushering in a New Era of True 4K Gaming

I'll admit, reviewing the "world's most powerful console" is a bit of an overwhelming experience. It's the first time I (or any of us) have played on a true 4K gaming console. What could I possibly compare it to? I could stack it up against the PS4 Pro, but would that be fair?

True 4K gaming; Impressive specs; Quicker load times; Stunning textures and draw distances

A tad expensive; 2TB would have been nice; Elite controller would have been nice

Since its entry into the console gaming space nearly two decades ago, Microsoft positioned the Xbox brand as one that focused on power. The original Xbox, and the Xbox 360 reflected this, with both of them having some of the best looking and technically astounding games of their respective...

Worthy upgrade over the Xbox One S; Improves a lot of games; Excellent build quality

Not available officially yet; Microsoft's download system needs work

Xbox One X

The pinnacle in console hardware, but not yet a must-buy.

Gorgeous 4K visuals; Quiet running; Improves performance in some games

Quality of graphics enhancements vary by game; Small and slow hard disk; Relatively high price
