I am sure most of you are familiar with the Linksys WRT54G , a router that appeared in 2002 and was one of the first reliable devices of its kind, it was easy to use, affordable and most important, the software was open source.

Fast speed; Great coverage; Supports Open Source firmwares; eSATA and USB 3.0; Restarts quickly

A bit expensive; The default software is lacking

My final verdict is that the router does deliver a premium experience, has fast speed and coverage and it is less expensive than before (the price did come down a lot over the last year).

It's hard to convey the gravity of how well this router has performed from the day it came out of the box. The entire infrastructure of our IT consulting business is based out of our home office, so the demands we have placed on this router have not been small, and it has delivered.

Although Linksys is approaching it's 30th anniversary in business; they didn't make on to most people's radar until the ubiquitous WRT54G hit the market in 2002 (of which I have owned and hacked many).

There's little to complain about; but some things do warrant mentioning

Over all pleased with the router I did not give it a 5 star due to having issues with using xbox live this router does not like keeping connected with this console shame linksys have not addressed the issue

It is the fastest, maddest and most expensive router we have ever tested and for most it will simply be far more than they need. But this is a router built by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, and if value is no object you can't go wrong here.

The WRT1900AC's big problem isn't its performance, however, it's the price. For £250 we expect the very best in performance at close range and long range, and this router doesn't quite deliver that.

The Linksys WRT 1900AC wireless router is a powerful device that is packed with useful software features. Transfer speeds were impressive in all of our tests, making this an excellent choice for home use.

Expensive

The Linksys WRT1900AC is a beast of a router both in performance and price (and maybe even size). For pure performance seeking shoppers that want the most bleeding edge and fastest router, this is your router. Stop looking. The search is over.

Put quite simply: the 1900ACS is the best router that Linksys has ever built. Given their storied history in the industry and their humble beginnings, that's saying a lot, but so does this router.
