Linksys WRT1900ACS

I does everything I expected. Setup was easy and the router covers the entire house. There are lots of other options available that I will use over time. Great buying experience with Crutchfield!

Great looking powerful router. Open source software ready is nice option but know that the factory installed software works just fine. One thing to know is if you decide to prioritize connected devices, it seems to cap the maximum internet speed at about 30mb/s.

good router, should/could be better

I also had WRT1900AC version 1, comparing with WRT1900ACS. You can't feel the difference between two although WRT1900ACS with faster CPU( from 1.2GHz to 1.6GHz) and more ram: 512MB, it's interesting WRT1900ACS canceled cooling fan, why

light-point on hardware, very powerful: dual-core 1.6GHz CPU, 128MB flash; 512MB RAM, high capacity to link many devices, good cell apps, USB3.0 port, no problem to stream HD video, could be a family NAS, openwrt, dd-wrt compatible

poor factory web-gui; no QOS; wifi range is not impressive; no real VPN; pricey; poor package ( refurbished product

Linksys WRT1900ACS Gigabit Wi-Fi Router, Dual-Band & Tri-Stream AC1900, 4 x Gigabit LAN, 1 x Gigabit WAN, 2 x USB 4 x External Antenna, Open Source Firmware

This router seemed like it was going to be just what I was after, plugged it in, set it up, it was easy to do, it seemed fast and it had a great GUI, then BOOM! it shut down and sat tying to restart. I had to shut it down, power off and then start it again.

Linksys WRT1900AC Review

The Linksys WRT1900AC is one of the fastest wireless routers. It is large and expensive, but it offers some of the most powerful hardware available and supports the use of open-source firmware.

Powerful hardware makes this router speedy and reliable

This router is expensive when compared to other consumer-grade options

The Linksys WRT1900AC is surely right up there with the Netgear R7000 when it comes to the best-looking router. The classic design spruced up with modern lines really makes this unit stand out.

Linksys WRT1900ACS Review

If you're looking for the best that 802.11ac networking has to offer, look no further than the $229 Linksys WRT1900ACS router. Not only is it the top-performing dual-band router, but it delivers good range, has lots of ports and includes powerful monitoring software.

High performance; Fast setup; Useful ports for connecting devices; USB and eSATA ports; Powerful monitoring and management apps

Bigger than most routers; uninspired design

Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC 1900 (WRT1900AC)

The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC 1900 (WRT1900AC) is without question the most ambitious consumer wireless router networking hardware available. The unit is a big, beefy router, with a big, beefy price to match. You get a lot for your coin, however, including very good performance.

Excellent performance and range; Unprecedented throughput speed when testing with second router as a bridge; Easy setup, remote access, and management; Firmware flashable via OpenWRT; QoS feature cuts down time to buffer a video

Expensive; Runs warm; Noticeable electrical odor when running; Can't set 5GHz band to 802.11ac-only mode
