Kobo Libra 2 review

The Kobo Libra 2 replaces one of our favourite ereaders, coming in at about the same price as the Libra H2O, but with far more storage, Bluetooth support for audiobooks and a USB-C charging port. So if you’re after an ereader that offers the best value for money, this is it.

Winning asymmetric design; 32GB storage; Audiobook support;

Battery charging can be erratic

A great alternative to a Kindle

My first Kobo after being a Kindle user for 10+ years. The Libre is a really nice premium ebook reader, solid build, and am really enjoying the larger screen size. I like that it has manually page turn buttons in addition to the touch screen interface (much prefer physical buttons). If you can afford the extra $'s I feel its well worth spending a bit more on this over the cheaper options, you get the larger screen, high res, auto adjusting brightness/dimming at night time, auto screen rotate depending on how you're holding it, and the UI responsiveness feels much quicker than the cheaper models. The Overdrive access to public libraries is...view more

Kobo Libra 2

Love this reader. Wi-Fi, touchscreen, great battery life, huge memory. Works well in the dark and bright sunlight. Very happy with it.

Makes night reading so much easier

I have always been skeptical about an Ereader but after being away and reading on my phone I decided to get one. It takes a bit of getting used to but it’s great at night when hubby is asleep and I want to read, or when a child is in the room. I still love my books, but will use this for BorrowBox and when away on hollday.

A good all round device

I was looking for an ereader capable of easily accessing library books (via Overdrive) and read pdfs. This device does that. The notes function on the books is useful, however note that you cannot annotate pdfs.

Kobo Libra 2 e-reader review: Freedom with a small price

Not only does Kobo’s revamped Libra e-reader sport a sharp screen and physical buttons for page turning, but it also offers wide support for content formats and sources. Battery life could be slightly better, but overall, reading on this device is incredibly enjoyable.

Light weight and sharp text make for hours of comfortable reading; Waterproof; Built-in OverDrive support; Book management offers many filtering and sorting options;

Can only play audiobooks from Kobo; Battery life not quite as good as on Kindle;

Kobo Libra 2 review: still the best ereader option around

The Kobo Libra 2 replaced one of our favourite ereaders in October 2021, coming in at about the same price as the Libra H2O, but with far more storage, Bluetooth support for audiobooks and a USB-C charging port. Even with newer models from different brands having entered the market since the Libra 2's launch, it remains the best ereader just from a value-for-money point of view.
