Google takes aim at the Echo Show with the Assistant-powered JBL Link View in the vanguard
So far Google Smart Displays are two for two. The Link View doesn't instantly trump the Lenovo Smart Display however - aside from possible Pandora issues, purpose matters. We would rather have the Lenovo on a nightstand for example, since its entry model is more compact and we might never get to...
I had a Lenovo Smart Display which was cool, but it was large, white with OK sound quality. I purchased the JBL Link View which is an amazing Smart screen speaker blends in better being black in my kitchen, is splash proof which is a huge plus for any kitchen and doesn't take too much space in my...
Smart displays aren't for everyone. They're not exactly tablets, but they look like ones and are both less and more useful, depending on how you look at them. With far superior sound and always listening mics, they act as a smart speaker for your home; but without real apps or a fully functional...
Sound JBL is pretty much synonymous with good sound; The Link View doesn't veer from that, providing enveloping sound and oomph with your music, Build It's well-built with sturdy materials that can withstand some abuse if you decide to use it in the kitchen, Cast target It works like a Chromecast,...
Design and display The JBL Link View is very simplistic in design compared to the sleeker Lenovo Smart Display; plus you only get an 8" display in the same dimensions as the 10" Lenovo and for the same price; No multi-room You can't group the Link View with your other Chromecasts and Google...
You have smart speakers. You have tablets. For those looking for something that offers a little bit of this and a little bit of that, you have smart displays. These are essentially a smart speaker but one which comes with a display to accommodate a limited number of features.
JBL's Link View is the best-sounding, display-equipped, Google Assistant-powered smart speaker today. But who knows how long it will hold that title

Currently can't be used in conjunction with other Chromecast speakers; Makes video calls only to Google Duo users; $50 more expensive than Lenovo's...
Smart displays with Google Assistant are definitely something new. Our JBL LINK VIEW review takes a look at JBL's entry into the smart display market which features an 8-inch screen and JBL's signature sound.
Featuring a screen and great sound, the JBL Link View makes Google Assistant seem even smarter.
Sounds incredible; Easy to set up and use; Using recipes is very easy and useful; Works with YouTube
More expensive than the Amazon Echo Show or Lenovo Smart Display; Most skills don't take advantage of the screen
Same Google smarts, better sound
Great sound, Chromecast built-in, YouTube
Bad viewing angles, Bland design, Android Things undercooked
JBL does what they do best by creating a smart display with great sound. The features are currently a little limited but over time it will only get better. Overall, the JBL Link View is a solid option for those looking into getting your first Google Assistant-enabled smart display.
