Halo 4 is my personal Game Of The Year. I understand that it might be difficult for people to fathom a first-person shooter taking that place, but Halo 4 really does offer an engaging, deep and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

+ Great campaign and story; + Memorable Halo experience; new 343i flavour; + Multiplayer is still great; + Spartan Ops is brilliant co-op fun

- Some new vehicles are a chore to control; - Game sometimes holds your hand

Someone really needs to cut Master Chief a break. The guy's saved humanity more times than I can count , and all it results in is him being sent on progressively crazier missions or being left adrift in the wastes of deep space.

A new chapter in the Halo universe that retains classic Halo touches; Fantastic space level that feels like Rogue Squadron; Great acting in cutscenes; The evolution of Cortana and Master Chief's relationship is wonderful

Will do little to attract new fans; Lack of explanation around several minor plot points; Whilst probably visually the best in the series; can be variable

I think that this game will be and should be an extreme success but for me it is about 5 euro more than its worth but in total I give this 10/9

It's four years after the Halo event, and everyone's a Master Chief. First-person shooters don't get any better than Halo 4. Of course, that's what many thought about the previous Halo:Reach .

Not much innovation

At what point does a videogame become more than just a game? When did Star Wars make that leap from cinematic blockbuster to world-conqueroring franchise across a plethora of media formats? This is a question that has been puzzling me ever since I was asked to play Halo 4 and write this review.

I've always considered myself a closet Master Chief apologist. With his helmet always firmly attached and his habit of "getting it done" without one-liners or a glimmer of humor, he embodies everything that today's gamers sourly gripe about.
