The HP 27xi is a surprisingly good monitor for less than a third of the price of an Apple Thunderbolt display. The best thing about the xi is its IPS panel. Viewing angles are excellent; colors are bright and remarkably accurate.
Adjustable Viewing Angles; Good Bang For Buck; Great picture quality; Large Viewing Area
No vertical adjustment
Finally, a large monitor that doesn't overwhelm my desktop. I have an older Steelcase workstation with overhead shelves; so, the vertical space available for a large monitor is restricted to about 18.5 inches. I first saw the 27i two aisles away and was blown away by its clarity and brightness.
Dvi Vga And Hdmi Ports; Great picture quality; Large Viewing Area; Small Footprint
I have a Thunderbolt display at work and wanted something similar in size and form factor. This has done the trick! Not *quite* as beautiful as an Apple Thunderbolt Display, but close and half the price!
Havn't used it that much yet, but it was very to set up. Great colors. Easy on my eyes. I am a stock trader and I can view more data on a large screen. I am very happy.
Excellent value. Would have preferred a matte screen. The screen is a bit too much glare. Otherwise, I find the size excellent and the value received very good.
My previous monitor was a 20" HP and it was very good but not large enough. This 27" Pavilion is even better. Very good images and everything is much larger which helps my bad eyesight. It does not have built in speakers but that is ok since I have a Logitech set with subwoofer.
Great screen! Do not by too worried about it not being the highest resolution. I am a 24 year old male with great eye sight and I also have a 27 inch iMac. I use this screen for my mac-book pro and I love the resolution...plus the size!
The HP Pavilion 27xi is a huge widescreen desktop monitor, measuring (you guessed it) 27 inches from corner to corner. It houses VGA, DVI, and HDMI input connectors on the back, making it easy to display output from nearly any computer at a full 1080p resolution.
Huge HD Screen; IPS Technology With High Contrast Ratio; Conservative Design; Easy to Adjust; Touch-Sensitive Monitor Controls
Poorly Implemented Software and Presets; No HDMI Cable; Reflective Screen
(2 items) Before me sit two 1920-by-1080 displays. But aside from resolution, the two have more differences than similarities. No, a display is not just a display. Making a choice between these two requires a careful consideration of size, reflection, performance, and price.
Wide viewing angle; Colors appear neutral; Mediocre text; Display has matte finish; Device stand
Low 1920-by-1080 native resolution for a 27-inch display; Very limited ergonomic adjustments; Overall mediocre image quality; Narrow viewing angle; Couldn't set display to show neutral colors
