HP LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M425dn

Basically a multi-function printer (MFP) variation on the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn ($399 direct, 4 stars), the HP LaserJet Pro 400 MFP M425dn ($499 direct) delivers essentially the same printing capability plus scanning, copying, and faxing.

High-quality text; Ethernet; Duplexer and 300-sheet capacity standard, 800-sheet maximum; Prints, scans, copies, and faxes

High running cost

Superb print quality and a dual-head scanner make this a good choice for monochrome desktop publishing, especially if you work with two-sided documents. Just don't expect a robust set of configuration options and user reports.

Excellent print quality; Relatively fast print speeds; Duplex ADF scanning; Color touch screen; Large paper-input capacity; EPrint and AirPrint support

Short on paper-output capacity; Limited configuration settings and user reports; No Wi-Fi connectivity

A wise investment.

Purchased for a small office with high print volumes. Pros: - The web interface (if you plug it into a network) is quite nice. It allows for remote management and setup from a computer, saving you from standing over the printer pecking at the small screen.

MArathon Research; Selected Right One

For new home based insurance agency, did a marathon online research on AOI printers (still have a 7 year old HP 7300 AIO for backup and color). Bought the m425dn 2 weeks ago. Was initially swayed by some negative reviews (mostly from late 2012 before firmware release), but decided to buy this unit...

duplex scanning; speed; 3 trays avail.; non-oem toner; monthly duty cycle

slightly noisy

Works Well

This printer was a snap to setup but be careful when you're removing it from the tight packaging container. One wrong move and you could break something. Also - remember to remove the shipping tape & plastic attached to several surfaces and the packing strip in the toner cartridge.

Meets Expectations

" ADC FEEDER WORKS PERFECT-USE FIRMWARE UPDATE "

use the firmware update on site and it will make the ADF work like magic. Mine was blank, as soon as I did the firmware update, perfect print. So far an excellent printer. I have no clue what all the fuss was or is about since HP did the firmware update.

HP LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn Review: Connected MFP

The HP LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn would be a good fit for small and medium sized businesses looking for a MFP to handle high volume black and white printing.

Print quality; Web; Mobile Apps; 50-sheet duplexing ADF

Small standard paper capacity; Average warranty

HP LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn Review

Like the single function HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn, I found the LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn to be very functional.  The print speeds were quick and reliable, the print quality was quite good and I find the web-connected and mobile applications to add value that some competitors can't match as of this...

The monochrome printer uses the brilliant laser print technology to deliver absolutely sharp results, and comes with a handy USB 2.0 interface. It delivers terrific overall value-for-money.
