This docking station was a challenge to set up initially (2015). The proper drivers had to be located, thanks to some forums where I found the right one. Then in 3 months, I had a problem with the monitors flashing, and HP sent me a replacement, even though it was not certain that this replicator...
o It does what it claims to do
o compression artifacts, at least for the first 1/2 second after window movement; Worse than my other displaylink USB 2.0 products, surpisingly; I think the drivers needs tweaking (used latest Displaylink drivers on Win 8, not the HP-supplied drivers, driving a 2560x1600 display
The driver installation was kind of tricky: The drivers that are delivered with the docking station work fine. When I updated the drivers to the most recent version they did not work anymore. Therefore I had to uninstall everything again and use the 'old' but functional drivers.

The external port didn't work very well when I first connected it and on first restart, it froze my system several times until I finally pulled it.
This product did exactly what I needed it to do. My 37" monitor works flawless with my HP computer.
Have this hooked to my HP Star Wars Special Edition Notebook. I am running two screens, a keyboard, mouse and Gigabit Ethernet through port replicator. I plug a third screen in the HDMI on the laptop, I run the laptop closed at my desk. It lets me unplug 3 cables to take my laptop with me.
