Until Squaresoft and Enix merged into a RPG producing powerhouse Final Fantasy sequels were virtually unheard of. Yes there are tons of FF games out there, but most of them are set in their own universe and therefore not linked to each other.
Plenty of exploration unlike the linear first game; monster capturing adds a new dimension to combat
Cliff hanger ending spoils an otherwise good story; they reuse enemies from the last game
The game arrived in decent condition with all the booklets and plastic intact. I ordered it based on a list I am slowly checking off of games I'd like to own and play, having enjoyed the first in this particular trilogy immensely.
Monster collection is fun and addictive, multiple heartfelt moments combine story and gameplay in effective ways. Caius is a fantastic villain. The game is very impressive with varied visual design which makes it one of the best looking games on the Xbox. A must buy, very fun.

I honestly can't bash on Final Fantasy XIII-2. Granted, the traditions that this franchise helped define, and in some cases create, are no where to be seen here. However, is that really a bad thing? If you take XIII-2 and grade it on its own merits, it stands out as a fantastic game.
I am playing this game now and I'm enjoying it. It feels like there is a lot to keep tract of in terms of how the game progresses but it is still fun and the story is a good one so far
This is better then final fantasy 13 since it is not straight forward.
