Raging Blast 2's good looks and fan service can't conceal the shallow combat at its heart.

Last year's Dragon Ball: Raging Blast kicked off a new series of fighting games set in the popular Dragon Ball universe. But while it admirably captured the look and energy of the Dragon Ball anime, delivering fights filled with stylish attacks and demonstrations of tremendous power, the core...

Energetic visuals highlighted by spectacular super attacks; New raging soul system makes melee attacks more useful; Tons of fan service content

Fighting is dull and repetitive; A great deal of content is recycled from the first game; Camera frequently loses sight of your opponent; Main single-player mode has poor storytelling and frustrating challenges

Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2

If you've never witnessed Dragon Ball Z before, it won't take much longer than the opening visuals for you to understand it's an overly camp, vibrant and completely bizarre universe. For those that have, the joyous Japanese singing will be a reminder of what makes the franchise so appealing.

Raging Blast 2 Generates Lots of Rage

The lack of story, bland feel of the characters and overall lame fighting system condemn Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2. And it does nothing for the franchise unless you're already a raging fanboy.

Review: Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 (PS3)

It would be uncharitable to call Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 a Madden-style roster update in the long-running franchise. The game is leagues beyond 2008′s Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit and contains some nice upgrades …

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 (PS3) Review

Namco Bandai is at it again with another Dragon Ball game. I was surprised to see that this is actually the third Dragon Ball fighting game for consoles, as I reviewed Dragon Ball Burst Limit a few years ago for 411mania but had no idea there was a Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 1.

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2

much variety and is a bit underwhelming. You would think after all these years of DB games that they would try to take the extra step and put more effort into it, but sadly that's not the case.

Review: Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 (Sony PS3)

Last year gave us the first Dragon Ball Raging Blast , a game I had the opportunity to review. While I did enjoy the game, I felt there was room for some improvement, and it was a decent overall fighting game on top of being a really good Dragon Ball game.
