Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall

Dishonored made its mark being original , but with downloadable content, originality is harder to pull off: developers often don't have the resources to build the number of new features you'd see in a full-fledged release.

+ Meaty three-stage adventure with improved stealth-violence balance; + Tells a quality-over-quantity story that isn't too cliffhanger-y

- Missions aren't quite as imaginative as Dishonored's best; powers aren't as punchy, ?

Dishonored Review

Dishonored is a welcome surprise in the weary world of the first-person shooter. A fully formed and actually quite interesting setting, a strong narrative, and innovative, if familiar, gameplay. Like BioShock before it, it breathes life into its genre while simultaneously challenging its boundaries.

Fun; challenging gameplay; Storyline congruent with your gameplay decisions; Richly detailed setting saturated with background info; Sweet mask

Load times a bit long; Silent protagonist (c'mon devs - lazy; No map

Dishonored Review

Dishonored got its hooks into me the moment it was revealed last year thanks to its unique art style and instantly mesmerizing game world, and even after around 30 hours of teleporting, stabbing, shooting, climbing, and rat summoning, those hooks are still firmly in place, even if they aren't buried...

Gorgeous; mesmerizing; authoritarian-gothic world; Blink ability = genius; A replay-lover's dream

Relatively straightforward story with an anticlimactic ending; Quirky gameplay hiccups; Inconsistent AI

Metal Gear Squalid

The city of Dunwall isn't exactly a happy place. A plague of rats sweeps the city streets, killing everyone in their path or infecting them with a hideous disease which makes them bleed from the eyes before going barking mental.

The final mission in high chaos adds much-needed narrative tension

The penultimate mission seems to drag on forever

Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall

Anyone who has even seen a trailer for Dishonored is already familiar with the assassin Daud. Having murdered Empress Kaldwin, abducted her daughter and left Corvo Attano to take the blame for his crimes, Daud is not a good man. So the idea of taking control of him is actually a bit repulsive.

Keeps all of the core Dishonored gameplay; adds a few new twists to the formula; interesting storyline

Story definitely feels like part one of something greater; intensely difficulty spike can throw off some gamers; a bit on the short side

Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall

The Knife of Dunwall places you in the silent shroud of master assassin Daud, who played a crucial role in the events of Dishonored . Tasked with assassinations and uncovering information about the mysterious Delilah, Daud is bolstered by his fellow shadowy assassins.

(Xbox 360 Review) Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall

As a worthy companion story to Dishonored , The Knife of Dunwall is a terrific example of high-quality DLC that intelligently improves upon the core material while retaining what made it great in the first place.
