Denon AH-D7200 review

Extremely comfortable design and smooth sound will keep you listening to these Denon headphones for hours There's plenty to love about Denon's mellifluous tone. In fact, you may prefer this balance if you're after long, comfortable listening sessions.

Smooth; balanced sound; Extremely comfortable; Excellent build quality

Voices could be more natural; Rivals offer better rhythm and punch

Took a few weeks to fall for these!

I am avid audiophile and have several high end headphones not to mention a quite expensive hi fi. But typical of this "illness" I got bored and was itching for a new toy... I wanted something a little different so looked at plannar phones such as hifiman and audeze but was put off by price and...

Denon AH-D7200

My Denon AH-D7200 review. Hi audiophiles. My AH-D7200 were burned in for at least 200 hours and were used balanced via 4 pin XLR. My audio connective trail and set-up: 16 and 24 bit WAV uncompressed and lossless files, optical TosLink cable, Teac UD-503, Nordost Brahma power cable, Nordost Tyr XLR...

Design; lows; build quality; highs; comfort; sound stage; looks; imaging

I would prefer a bit more meat on the mids and a bit more body to voices but I'm just being picky

Meet Denon's swanky new AH-D7200 reference headphone

Denon has a new high-end headphone coming this January -- the AH-D7200 -- and from its design and specs it seems worth keeping an eye on, if you're in the market for a $999 headphone. (There's no word on international pricing but we'll add it when we get it. It converts to £800 or AU$1,400.)

Targeting "discerning" audiophiles, Denon will be ship a new, luxuriously designed headphone in January.
