TP-Link WR1043ND vs D-Link DIR815 review

I've recently had a little fun with these two routers, the TP-Link WR1043ND and the D-Link DIR815. Both offer similar specifications except that the D-Link unit sports a Dual Band radio that can use 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz whereas the TP-Link ‘only' sports the 2.4Ghz band, but the TP-Link has 4 LAN Gigabit...

D-Link DIR-815 Wireless N Dual Band Router review

The D-Link DIR-815 Wireless N Dual Band Router is an impressive Wi-Fi device that should sell for an attractive price.

Bad Connection

I am in the basement in my house while my router is upstairs and it fails to stay connected to my ipad and computer and only gets 2.3 mps. The connection is bad on my ipad because it will stay connected for 10 seconds and then disconnect and then reconnects and so on, just save a little more and get...

Good connection at short range

Bad long range

Great product, works great.....

Set up was easy, and it works great. I bought an engenius wireless router for more than I paid for the D-Link system and it only worked for 1 month (dont buy engenius router) its junk.

Not Bad at All

Honestly I looked at all kinds of wireless Routers here and every one had some horrible reviews. My experience with this one is pretty good. It was easy to set-up and I have no problem being all the way across the house and being online. The Dual band is key and I would recommend that to anyone.

Excellent router with limitations.

I recently replaced my aging but reliable Linksys WRT54GS router with DLink 815 and was surprised with the improvement, it bumped up the speed even on my wireless g connections. So far I have no drops and constantly get strong signals (5 bars) throughout my two story house.

Drops wireless daily

First review for me. Wish it was a positive one. Daily resets on this thing for 2.4 GHz, wired seems fine. Thought it was the energy saving feature that turns-off wifi at a preset time, but can't find the setting for it.

Great product

You get what you pay for. Quality product, reliable at an affordable price. You may need to phone your internet provider to bridge connections on your existing modem. Very happy!

2nd one - same issues

No change. I've gotten limited connectivity on my wireless a few times. Never had an issue with my Linksys WRT54GS. I would have kept that one, by my Internet speeds are capped by wireless-g. I will be looking around for a reliable N router. This one is junk.

Easy setup

Absolutely no internet from 5ghz; Sounds like other people have this issue; This was "free" with the Motorola SB6141; I had to RMA the first one because I couldn't get out to the internet on the 5ghz wireless; 2.4 worked fine; Same issue with the replacement; Not impressed at all.

The Basics for the Basics

Great router at a low price. The setup is secure if you do it right. Confident years of use.

Low Price; Great Performance; Reliablity; Security

Not very hackable--hard to find mods; basic features; no USB port
