It's been a while since we last looked at a PSU, so lets change that today by taking a look at Corsair's latest model which aims to offer a good balance between value, performance and features. This is our Corsair RM850i Review.
Corsair continues to revamp its range of power supplies in 2015. Incremental improvements to long-standing ranges make each series that little bit better. The HXi is a case in point, which is now very close in specification to the range-topping AXi released a while back.
Excellent performance; Very quiet under load; Super ripple results; Seven-year warranty; Flat cabling

Corsair offers a large selection of PC power supplies and today we will be taking a detailed look at their new RM850i PSU. The RMi Series includes four models: the RM650i, RM750i, RM850i, and RM1000i.

Low fan speed (quiet) causes PSU to run a little warm at mid power levels
Let's take a look at Corsair's new RM850i today. We've already seen how the 750 watt model does, and now it's time to run some tests on the rest of this new line of units to see how consistent the platform is. Certainly, it's very promising with its full modularity and Corsair Link functionality.
Needed to upgrade for a video card and this comes with a 7 year warranty so this will last longer than most of the other hardware in my system!
Bought this to replace an old 650w Corsair ready for upgrading everything else in my rig. Not had a modular PSU before, but it allows for nice neat cabling with enough supplied for my needs. The voltages are all stable and the Corsair link software can make a handy system monitor.
Got this on sale with a $20 MIR, otherwise the regular price is high. Typical Corsair quality and the fan hardly runs on this so it's really quiet. Corsair Link is really neat, especially with an H80i, and gives you key info on your system.
Corsair quality and power; Dead Silent; Corsair Link is neat
Nothing
Good if Setting up SLI. video cards.
I purchased this to go in my first computer in years and I wanted a rock stable poser supply since I wanted to make this my first overclock project in years. I was a little worried about it being refurbished but I also know that refurbished can be due to cosmetic damage to the shipping case.
Price Rock Solid stable power
Short warrenty
