It goes without saying that Corsair has some of the best power supplies on the market. The AX1200i and AX1500i power supplies have redefined what it means to be the best of the best, and they have proven to be the closest we have ever seen to being a perfect power supply.

The Corsair HX1000i is the first member of Corsair's HXi lineup of power supplies that we have seen. We have, however, seen two of this unit's predecessors as well as a number of ~1000W power supplies recently.

Two weeks ago, we had a look at the first and smallest unit in Corsair's new HXi line of power supplies. Enabled with Corsair Link, that unit proved itself a solid little unit indeed. It's time to go two sizes up from there and see how the 1kW unit behaves. Come on in, won't you?

It a great 1 kilowatt power supply. It's an analog device, not a digital power supply but you save money with this unit. I bought a workstation motherboard on Ebay with two older generation Xeon processor and lots of ram and I didn't want to worry about power supply issues.

A bit pricey but great return for the money

I bought this to replace an existing 1000 watt PSU. I was hoping to just unplug the cables from the old PSU & plug them into the Corsair. No such luck as the connectors at the Corsair aren't standard. Not a problem, it just takes a little more time as you'll be replacing the cables.

I am currently using this PSU for my 1st PC build. I have had zero issues with this unit in my Cooler Master Storm Trooper case. Everything runs perfectly, never had a random shut down, grounding issue or overheat.

The Corsair power supplies have been at the forefront of PSU design and technology for many years now. Originally, we saw the old TX series as the entry level units, followed by the higher end HX series, and then lastly the AX series. Nowadays however, the branding has changed slightly.

An excellent power supply unit! I love the quet fan mode. Note: you must use 2 separate PCI-E power cables for AMD RX Vega 64 as this doesn't give enough power for a single cord/rail to support that card.
