I've had the camera for a year now and still love it. Travelled to Ecuador with it and got great video. The lens shade and cap are well thought out by canon. The two memory card slots are also very handy.

So far this was well worth the money. I am impressed with the low light capability and the auto focus features. I have been recording a lot of indoor auditorium speeches at multiple universities and the G20 is easy to use. The built in stabilizer is nice but it is better with a tripod.

To accommodate XLR ports for an external audio system, use the Beachtek XLR adapter and cable into the Vixia G20's "mic" port. I use a Sennheiser Evolution Wireless Series w100 self-powered system. The headphone jack on the camera is convenient for monitoring sound input while recording.

Camera works good in the beginning and I used couple of time but now after four months it stop reading/recording on SD cards - I can use only internal memory and I contacted Canon customer service and they said you have to mail to them in Ontario repair center. Shipping cost I have to bear with.

Good images and format. But the features of the camera could be improved. Too many menus within menus and hard to scroll and press. And finger pressing smears up the LCD screen. The hot shoe is a MINI-HOT SHOE so the shotgun mic I bought has a normal base that won't fit!
